My guess is Knicks draft another international player to stash for cap reasons

Adding Branden Davies to my list BYU PF

Looking at possible picks under 25(ill keep this a running post throughout the year if anyone else sees a player they like)

#1 Nate Wolters PG 6-4 195 South Dakota State
#2 Tim Hardaway JR 6-6 225 Michigan
#3 Branden Davies PF 6-9 240 BYU

Hey Briggs have you seen Erik Murphy and if so what do you think of him? To me he is Matt Bonner with a better post game. Might be a nice back up or replacement for Sheed.

Can always count on Briggs's to be a scout for NY Knick's, with many interesting players, good analysis of talent, and SOLID track record of value for the past decade that I remember.
Of course he isn't ALWAYS RIGHT but he has no control of how the players will dedicate themselves with practice and their continued development in the NBA level.

With many great picks with HS players and college talent, in recent years with players like Bynum, DeAndre Jordan, McGee, Hibbert, Blatche.
Even Vucevic, BJ Mullens, AR, Brandon Wright, JR Smith/Josh Smith as high risk/high reward players being HS talent bases on athleticism and potential.
Have to give much credit to his analysis because he does make his predictions AFTER they are drafted and show signs of development AFTER they are in the league but BEFORE they were drafted, sticking out to REPUTATION out to defend his picks.

Enjoys the reads and finds that Briggs and some other's here continue to make....

Unlike Chuckbuck, who claims to be a "proud member of the Iman Shumpert Fan Club" after he show signs that he could be a solid defender during the season.
But also blasts Donnie Walsh for not drafting Kenneth Faried, saying we made a huge mistake by NOT drafting him instead, as Iman is NO Faried" (whater that means, Shaq isn't no Jordan either)
However, he fails to mention that we had had no center *amnesty was not yet known before the draft with lockout year and with no cap room*
So essentially, we never had Tyson Chandler in the picture and almost no future draft picks *2nd pick that was traded for Felton* in the next couple of years after the Iman pick
A starting line up of Melo/Amare and Faried would have been a disaster with their size on the defensive end with a 6'6 PF.

Melo 6'8
Faried 6'6
Amare 6'10

Nate Wolters reminds me a bit of Jose Calderon, between a PG/SG, with good size/length

He seems to have a GREAT SHOOTER/RANGE, good handle, passing ability, high IQ, court vision, feel for the game, moves well off the ball, to go with his ability pull up over smaller guards.
However, he seems very slow for a guard, without the legs speed/quickness/explosiveness/athleticism and strength that would give him trouble in defending and question his ability to adapt to playing in the NBA level.

Brandon Davies reminds me of Brandon Wright

I believe Wright is a FA after this season, who could be available, unfortunately FA doesn't still till after the draft so we wouldn't know what his price would be to sign him.
Wright has fallen out of the rotation from Dallas, even without Dirk, with Kaman/Brand *UFA*/Bernad James *28 year old rookie*
Either could be a solid PF/C role player/defender next to Chandler/Camby/Wallace *if he resigned*
He was a lottery pick by Golden State given by GS and then Nets, who looked like he was starting to find a role for himself and Mahimi last year with the Mavs.

I think he can be a player anywhere from the vet minimum, to 2m between AR and Greg Stimensa, and as high as what Mahimi got about 3.5m.
For the vet minimum, he would be a great pick up with as he could play PF as the 2nd shot blocker/rebounder/defender that can play together.

Of course Brandon Davies would have a higher ceiling with his development but Wright is also still young and still has potential left to be filled.

As for Tim Hardaway JR at SG, a smaller/less explosive Luol Deng, he seems to have legit size, good balanced game, and ability to shoot the ball

However, with JR, Iman, Kidd, and even Ronnie Brewer *UFA G/F* all playing the same position, I guess we have to see how Iman comes along with his injury and if JR resigns.
Of course Kidd will continue to have questions due to his age/health within these 3 years of his contract.
Grunweld will have to decide which route he will decide, and the risk/reward, of position over need or taking the BPA, best player available.
It would be interesting if Iman shows by signs of his former self physically*athleticism/quickness* and defensively, with improvements with the mentoring of Kidd/Pablo and Hopla's shooting.
Whether he can show signs of playing some PG duties, improving his ability to handle/facilitate, penetrate, and create for others efficiently

------------------------------------
My pick, Mason Plumlee
------------------------------------

I personally like Mason Plumlee 6'11 245pds PF/C Duke *believe he is Plumlee's brother drafted by The Pacers*
What do you guys think about Plumlee??? Briggs???
Not sure if he would still be available during draft night but would be great pickup with great length/wingspan/reach to go with his athleticism/size that would have 2 years to develop with Woodson along to be the mentoring of a nice trio of biggs with Tyson Chandler/Camby/Rasheed Wallace*if he resigns* to help his development.

DraftExpress has him going at 9

NBAdraft.net has him going at 20

of course players will continue fluctuate up the draft
I didn't realize he was actually ranked that high with Walsh drafting his brother at 18ish??? but many mockdrafts had him at the late round to 2nd round.

Briggs was also the first guy to be talking about Chris Kaman (central michigan) and Dwyane Wade -- both were "under the radar" when briggs started posting about them.

i like plumlee too and have thought he was seriously underrated going into this year. he's a legit 7' who is athletic and can run the floor. he's added to his game this summer.

can't wait to see who else briggs uncovers throughout the year.

Briggs also wanted the Knicks to draft Thabeet at any cost in the lottery.

It goes both ways.

Hopefully these players are as good as he says.

i'm not talking about his draft pick recommendations; just guys that he was in on before anyone else was. my examples of Wade and Kaman were 2 guys who were basically unheard of and briggs would post their game logs and be like "watch out for this guy." i've always appreciated those sort of picks, like this Wolters guy who i've never heard.
