This team hasn't won championship or anything, but it's simply amazing what we just seen tonight. From down 12 points with only 7:13 remaining during the 4th quarter. To up 7 points. Before actually winning by the final score of 104-100. Simply remarkable. Just witnissed a will power that stopped another team dead in their tracks. A will to win. More like cold blooded
resilience. This was the definition of resiliency during those closing moments. Still in a state of shock in regards to what just happened. What I just seen. The sudden change of events.
My stomach started to turn while down 77-89 (along with moments leading up to it). That empty feeling you get/have before the crushing blow. The reality of a loss. On the road against an elite Spurs team. True Western Conference Contenders. 7-1 overall. Our Knicks were down 77-89 with only 7:13 remaining. And then it happened. Fought back to 85-89. An 8-0 run on San Antonio's home court. Only down 4. Felton stopped the bleeding, and Kidd stuck the dagger. Found ourselves up 7 (102-95) with only 26 seconds remaining. Which is exactly when San Antonio's fans began to leave the arena.
Just seen our Knicks come from behind, more like storm back out of absolutely nowhere during the final seven minutes and thirteen seconds. Not even words can describe the type of resilience this team has played with thus far through 6 games. On the road against a previously 7-1 Spurs team is only 1 example. This is the same Spurs team in which has already beat the likes of the Thunder and Lakers. We straight up murdered those guys during the (2nd half) of the 4th quarter.
Prepared, mentally tough, resilient... whatever you wish to call it. We're on of the above. Had a stronger mental toughness when compared to Miami after hurricane Sandy. Came out ready to compete and fight for our City. Miami couldn't match our intensity on that night. People overlook the fact that we've played an Atlantic divisional rival in Philly, during a home/away series, and walked away with two victories during consecutive nights. Had our way with a streaking Dallas Mavs team. With or without Dirk, that team was playing good basketball heading into our matchup. Took care of the Magic in Orlando, dominated Orlando during the second half (especially during th 4th quarter) and just escaped with a resilient come from behind victory over an actual NBA contender.
Basketball is back in the mecca.
