First of all im thrilled with the start of the season. melo looks great, brewer has been a nice replacement for shump, kidd, felton, prigs have made a great 3 headed monster at pg, jr smith has been unbelieveable. The only thing im a little worried about is Novak. I love the guy but it seems like the league has figured him out a little bit. Also i noticed that his release on his shot is too fast and he is missing the shots he usually makes.

If he wasn't making $4mil per and more like $2.5Mil I wouldn't be concerned. Novak is what he is. Knicks overpaid which is nothing new. Take the games where he reels off 7 threes, helps them win and run with it. Games where he is out of it which has been quite often he will barely play. As has been the case

I don't think any one Knick has looked great.. Jr smith has been the biggest surprise, but I am not worried about novak, I figured this would happen with him on this team... but he is just a spot up shooter.. he doesn't defend, so I don't see how he is going to get a lot of minutes.. he is still hitting open shots, shooting 43% from three is not bad, but not what we have grown accustomed to seeing from novak... he needs shot attempts and he isn't getting many, but still seems to be knocking them down when open.. It is very, very early.... he will be fine...

As a very few here would fear we overpaid for a specialist who is a good player for what he does but as I believe TKF said 2 mos ago is "not that good".

Also wait until Shumpert gets healthy there will be no minutes for him. You can't play Brewer/Smith/Kidd/Shumpert/Novak/Anthony if healthy and playing well quality minutes. There will be several teams we play where defensively and offensively Novak won't fit into game flow. Since we're winning it lessens the concern some I guess.

That is true once Shump returns Novak will be out of the rotation and join the list of overpaid knicks to never get off the bench for 4yrs. Unless Brewer drops off the face of the earth like Landry Fields. Brew was bad last night and has been good but its only 5 games. Gut feeling is Woodson will play him over Novak because of his D

yes, of course. Man leads NBA in 3 pt %, so he will sit the bench the whole season. As I recall, Shump was playing last season when Novak was not sitting the bench.

Novak's getting cudos for his defense, for cryin out loud.

Relax people. Go piss on some other part of the charcoals.

There was no Kidd and Brewer here...Smith came over late. Novak also played a good portion of his minutes last year during Linsanity when the team was infirm

Woody is a defense first type of guy. Harkless had some nasty stretches against us and Novak got the quick hook

Knicks will have to shorten the rotation when Amare and shump return. Camby and Wallace will will backup Tyson and Amare. Melo goes back to SF. There will be no minutes for Novak. Minutes will go to shump, JR, kidd, felton and brewer at backup SF. If Knicks need offense Novak might be utilized occasionally over Sheed at PF

I don't care about Novak, nor worried about his shot not falling, as long as the team is winning. Brewer shyt the bed against the magic also, so JR got alot of minutes early.

There will be times Novak will win a few games for the Knicks. All players 1 through 15 will contribute at some point this season.

Of course that wasnt the point though. The point was that Novak has seemed off this year and Novak when he is on fire he is a great weapon to have

He's rushing his shot a little this year. Like he's eager to make an impact. Not worried at all though, he's a pure shooter, this is what he does for a living.

No. Novak will be fine. I'm more concerned with the number of 3s the Knicks are taking. Live and die...

Simple adjustment for Novak--go back to your regular release and slow it down. Great players slow the game down---when Novak is going he play within himself in rhythm. If Novak is doing his job--the court spreads for the slashers---if he takes 3-4 quality 3's in normal rhythm--hes going to make 45-50% of them.--no need for a rapid release.

I think when we get Amare back--he will be our interior % threat off the bench. I dont see Amae playing big minutes ever again--but 16-18 minutes and 10 points at 55% would really help in the longer run.

I mentioned this after the 2nd game. No team in the history of the NBA Lives off jump shooting as contenders/champions. We do a heckuva lot of it. Right now it's going swell, we'll see if it continues.

As long as 'Sheed isn't launching those 3s in bunches (0-5 last night), then we'll be fine. The 3 headed PG monster usually shoot when they're open. When the shots aren't falling from outside, Knicks always go back to their calling card "Defense" like they did in the 4th quarter. I'm sure Woody will make adjustments to the offense if necessary.

Sheed is a good 3 point shooter he was just off last night
