Great question from Knickblog.com

It's interesting how most of us thought the Melo trade was lopsided (especially me). But it looks like it was a solid deal for both teams....Thats assuming Melo plays like this all season! and Galo/Moz/Chandler stays healthy. I haven't checked their stats, but I don't think Gallo, Chandler and Mosgov are playing like impact players with super star talent. But they are solid role players. Melo is a proven NBA star. Somebody that can carry a team on offense. And now he's learning how to use defense and intensity to lead a team.

The answer to the question is....No. Obviously not after a solid 4-0 start. This question is a little too early to answer anyway. In fairness to the Denver guys, they were all injured or had surgery last season. We will see how they look mid season. But man, when you have a team built around Melo, it's like beautiful music. Melo is currently the best / second best offensive threat in the NBA. When you surround him with vets, defense, and athletes.... You start the season 4-0

I'm on record as a supporter of the trade. My only issue was that we probably gave up more than we had to but we definitely didn't give up too much.

I would not at all..Not even close. Gallo is still inconsistent, Chandler is a replaceable bench player now, Mosgov is still a stiff center. Anyone who would reverse trade just doesn't like Melo and it's more personal then basketball.

The trade is NOT Melo for Galo/Moz/Chandler. It is more accurately Melo/Tyson/Felton for Galo/Moz/Chandler. When you look at it
that way the trade isn't even close! GO KNICKS!

I mention Harden because I've said for over a year we should be going after him and I think we could have beaten the Rockets' offer. I mentioned Irving because TKF did.

I don't see how we could have put together a better offer than Houston's unless we trade Melo or Tyson for more trade assets.

Harden is no Melo. Him disappearing last year in finals as 3rd option says a lot. No post game like Melo, doesnt' rebound like melo and doesn't defend like the New Melo.

Papabear Says

Why don't we just stop it. Hardin in not as good as Melo. Melo will be known as a superstar this season. The thought that Chandler, Mozgov and Gallo. Do you really think that they are better than Melo? I want to move foward not backward.

Just realised- remember back during the Melo trade, Denver insisted they didn't want Anthony Randolph, so why did they just sign him this offseason, when he seems even less of a prospect than he did back then?
