I'm expecting a career year from Melo this year and am happy with with I've seen thus far. I hope he continues to bring it like this every night. While watching the game yesterday Breen mentioned that Chandler stated that Melo is locked in on the court, in practice, during film sessions and that he's being more vocal.

I love the hard play but almost lost my breakfast when Melo jumped into the stands for the loose ball.

I know it's early and 2 games does not make a season but I truly hope that this Melo is the Melo we have as our man for the rest of his career. We'll go as far as he will take us.

We can't have it both ways. Jordan dove, Bird dove as do all the greats.

Great two game sample and perhaps shows the continued maturation of him. When a team gives you the money and the keys to the franchise this is how a star is suppose to lead.

Leadership is earned on the court and not implied in the media.

He smiles too much.

He dives, but he might get hurt.

He plays hard on D, but he doesn't pass enough.

He's in shape, but he's not cut.

We win a few games, and he's still a loser until proven otherwise. Or if he possibly forces a trade to Brooklin.

This small sample size would be enough for the half-full posse here to be calling for his head in a bag if we had lost both.

It's sacrilegious to some on here and will clearly violate the separation of church and state.

jrodmc - please compare selective perception to the factorialism that Carmelo under Mike Woodson is new and improved.

Carmelo simply feels more genuine this season. His smile is less forced. He seems comfortable in his role. His body language is more engaged with his teammates and his head is up. Perception is everything.

I think everyone have been saying positives things...He was great against Miami too..

What I liked a lot is the affect that Kidd is having on Melo. There was a play last night when Melo wanted the ball but Kidd wouldn't give it to him, he waiting and then hit a wide open player cutting, right under the basket. I think Kidd is going to really raise Melo's game. Intelligence just rubs off.

I've said this before, Melo has too much talent to be wasted with his selfish play. We saw him changing away from that play during a stretch last year. But, it is tough to go away from what you have done your whole life. But winning will slowly do that to you (as well as playing with other veterans - like on the Olympic team and now!). However, I don't think it is just a clicking or moment when it happens. Probably he will take a few steps back but hopefully, eventually, keep going forward and then it will it him for good.
