Novak, relaunched

No one struggled as badly in the Knicks’ postseason series last season as Steve Novak, who saw his dream season fade into oblivion when he launched just nine field-goal attempts in five games.

The Heat hounded him around the three-point line, never letting him get loose. He spent the off-season working on some corrections, developing a few moves to try to shake free.

This time he got a bit of revenge, hitting 6-of-10 from the floor, including five three-pointers, for 17 points but said there was no game plan to free him. "No, no, just play within myself, play my game, play within our offense," he said.

Life am good. So Is Steve Novak.

Yeah I did but buried in another thread..Novak certainly deserve some love..I'm usually hard of Novak for his defense and being unable to get his own shot..But last night there were a couple of times where he faked and took a step and shoot...Big Ups to Steve..I want to see him have a good year...Go Knicks!!!

He looked great. His shot wasn't always falling in the preseason and I was worried. He said he benefitted from his teammates setting him up. Sheed's shot looked sweet last night also. When he is ready to play consistent minutes they are going to be a matchup nightmare.

Novaks struggles in the post Season were not his fault. We all know and accept what Novak is. He is a player who if given a good look will hit the 3 more times than not. We also know he can not create shots for himself. All his open shots are made from ball movement or penetration and kick out. ISO melo and no Pgs in the post season is why he struggled. You need to give Novaks defender a reason to rotate off of him or to at least give him a step or 2.

Novak was really forcing shots at times during the preseason, players do that from time to time but it was very uncharacteristic for Novak. He isn't forcing the issue now so no harm no foul.

I noticed that also. I remember saying in one of the game thread he was rushing his shot even when he was wide open.
