Raymond Felton answered Doris Burke with his standard bluntness and honesty on playing despite Sandy. Then he went out and led his old/new team (sans mare) against the world champions. He did not let us down.

After answering the incessant questions about his weight with the same honesty, Ray Felton returned to a place he never wanted to leave, and did us proud. With six minutes remaining he hit the big shot to send the Heat starters to the bench.

Welcome back Raymond.

Good catch. Imagine the number of threads and hostile comments if Felton had turned it over and the Knicks lost.

Good game for Felton. Funny how everyone cried when he was traded then claimed he sucked when we got him for cheap...

The backcourt was amazing. Felton looked great. He sets guys up and fights through screens. I didn't think much of Kidd and brewer during the preseason but they looked great last night. Having a real training camp and point guards makes a huge difference for a team.

Funny how all the people that spent the entire off-season bashing Felton are avoiding this thread but have managed to post in threads related to The Gift!

Agreed. But you have to take it in context. They cried for Felton because he was traded for the Devil in the Blue Knick Uniform (Melo). Now, he's a scrub because he's replacing the golden boy in the backcourt....

Well....that person is not me. Ive been a supporter of our gm since he made a great basketball decision in letting lin go and replace him with three solid pgs. Plus all the vets he added are around my age. And if im still killing like i have been in my 20's, after two ankle surgeries....they will too (as a group).

But this was 1 out of 82 games...coming off an emotional dance with sandy. If we truly turned the corner, we need to prove it tomorrow against philly.

It was great watching Felton do his thing last night. 14 Points 9 Assists 4 rebounds.

Can't wait to watch us demo the Sixers on Sunday.

I don't think anyone refered to felton as a scrub, he didn't play to well during his last 3 wks in a knick uni, then had a real suspect year last season..It's human nature to to base ones worth on there most recent accomplishments, which in his case happen to be sloppy un interesting play.

When he came into the gym at summer league in vegas, he was already looking like a man on a mission, after walt interviewed him, you can tell this guy had a major chip on his shoulder and was destine to prover the haters and doubters wrong..I just hope it's for the entire season, not 12 weeks

Man, I so happy for this kid...Great to have him back and I knew he could hold this down...He withstood the pressure of the Heat's defense and made some plays...I loved how the Heat tried to trap him into making the cross court pass and twice he hit Novak on the same baseline with what looked like an impossible pass...He can still get to the rim with gusto...Bron made an amazing block on one of those...But he will be even better when every gets on the same page...

Keep shooting Ray!!!!

Happy for Grunwald and Woodson also. The team appears to be a very cohesive team and the parts after one game seem to fit together very well. Also, the Knicks came out of a training camp better prepared and more motivated then they have in a long time. Unlike the Francis/Marbury backcourt, the Knicks with Felton, Pablo, and Kidd have a tremendous group of pass first guys. Can't wait for Shump to get back.

Even JR had a couple of nice looks to Novak...I'm even happy for Novak who twice took a step to knock down a shot..Loving it!!!

Novak played like he had point guards who could pass him the ball in the right spots It was also nice to have point guard capable of consistently splitting double teams and dribbling the ball up the court when pressured.

I wish I could have seen this game... the box score and highlights aren't enough! Still getting used to all the new faces but love that Ray came back to the Garden strong. Like the warmup suits with the NYK logo too!
