Which means a 12/8 game on 42%fg 1 made shot away from being 55%fg is not constituted as a "terrible game"

Well if he made one of the missed shots that would have moved him to 6 of 12, right? Otherwise, you're right though.

^in the Detroit game, Lin was hammered and no call. Once Lin gets the respect from the refs then he will be even more effective. 3 of his turnovers were from him driving the lane for a no call. Lin puts so much pressure on the defense that it opens up the floor for other players. This is why fishlips and fields looked good in the offense. Lin made it easy for everybody.

I don't think Lin makes the Knicks roster better today, but it was stupid to let him go for nothing. Plain and simple.

I'm excited about Fleton though. Good defender, chip on his shoulder and a leader. He also had a great pre season. One of the only bright spots. We shall see.

I wonder what the Lin wanted the spotlight think of lin deferring to harden. The chemistry between those to is like nightvand day compared to his chemistry with melo. Or any pgs chemistry with melo for that matter.

My bad yes his percentage would have been 50%

Also, the 0 for 2 o 3pt shots is misleading. Fact is, Lin made two of the jumpers from about 3 point range (toe touched the line -- can be verified on replay). Would have given him 50%. But I am not saying he is a 50% shooter. All I'm saying is to wait . . . things will become crystal clear re: Lin as the season progresses, no matter how loudly we shout our opinions at this time.

He shot two three pointers and missed both. That is that. The amount of excuse making for Lin is laughable. Also, I am not shouting my opinion. I simply posted stats, which are facts, and you guys are making excuses for his mediocre stats in game 1.

The point of the thread is whether Lin is a good player or not. Not to argue whether he shoots worse from 3 inches further behind. Stop being a jackass. The next game is in 3 hours. Take this prediction to the bank. You're going to be nowhere to be seen in 6 hours as far as this forum goes. LET"S SEE IF YOU'RE A DUMBASS, OR I AM. And you can quote me on that. My guess is that you're the jackass, and that makes your mom a female donkey.

westbrook was 6-21, missed all his 3s, had 6TOs to 5assts. bad games happen. though, will okc regret moving harden instead of westbrook. westbrook seems like a chucker who lets folks get to him. no way should he be taking more shots than durant

4 TO is terrible. 41.7 FG% is terrible. 0% from three is terrible. His scoring (based upon the hype and expectations) is low and bad.

Just one game. But, Lin is not justifying the all the whining about gift proclamations just yet.

His pre-season sucked as well, objectively speaking.

There is nothing more to be said. He looked slow out there as well and was struggling to get a clear lane to the basket. When Lin has a good or great game, I will say so and acknowledge it.

41.7% FG is pretty crappy.
I dunno if 0-2 from 3 could be really considered "terrible".

2:1 assist to turnover ratio isn't exactly terrible. Playmaker types who have had lower than 2:1 assist to turnover ratio over 2011 season:

Lebron
Steph Curry
Goran Dragic
Kobe
Arenas
Wade

http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/assists/sort/assistTurnoverRatio/year/2011/count/41

So are we cleared to call Lin "Mr.417" until further notice?

It would be Mr. 1.000. You seem to be confused about the unit of measurement.

Rignt. Let's see if I've got this straight:
Lln = Lln / 1 for 1 / Mr. 1.000
MeL0 = MeL0 / 0 for 0 / Mr. .427 (or whatever you were calling him)

Got it.

Agreed. Westbrook is overvalued right now, which means it's a good time to trade him.

No, silly. 43 wins in 91 games earns him the name Mr. 470.

So, are the people on this board predicting 20 and 10 for Lin this reg. season sticking with that?!?!?!?!

We all know if Felton were stinking it up this bad during the pre-season he'd be getting killed on this board....

Agreed, i still like lin grit n wit & like jeremy personally but
He shoulda stayed ny thus he's a piece of **** needing to re deem himself

Lin didn't shoot great but flirted with a triple double. 21 points, 10 rbs, 7 assists. Another road win for the Rockets.
45 points on 19 shots for Harden! People will soon see him as a top 5 to 10 player in the league.

Love how NUPE completely sidestepped his statements on turnovers being proven illogical.
It's just one mediocre game and one good game. let's see if dude'll ever change his tune or just keep repeating the same thing over and over.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Harden demonstrates the shot selection that every NBA player should have. Houston's front-court is weak but they have the flexibility to improve.

Yes they do and players like Morris/Patterson are better than one would think. Morey is not done everyone knows this.

Harden is the BEST PURE SCORER in the NBA. I'll say this after only 2 gms. The way he scores is like a thing of beauty. It's deliberate not forced at all, smooth and diversified, timely, clutch. I said when the trade happens if given a similar role as a player like Westbrook has or any Top Player he would prove his value and that he belongs in the Top company. He's also a very unique player in that there isn't a player like him with exception to maybe Ginobli. Overall upside Harden has this edge.

Harden is rapidly becoming the best player of his draft class if he keeps this up and possibly the best players drafted since the Lebron/Melo draft.

At the same time K-Mart is proving he's worthy to hang with the OKC gang if Russy will share/give up the rock.

On paper, this game looks better: 21pts, 10reb, 7Asst 2/3 from 3pt line vs 3TO 6of16 shooting

However, any 5th grader can look just at stats. Why even watch the game. Watching the game, even though the numbers were less impressive, I thought the 1st game was stronger for Lin. He'll get better and will put up Linsanity numbers fairly consistently.

Anyone see NUPE?
