Love him or hate him, the guy has been around for 30+ years. Probably only NBA commissioner most fans know of.

Happy Trails David Stern! Thanks for freezing and bending the corner of the envelope back in 1985...probably only era of Knicks basketball where I'll actually see the Knicks compete in the NBA finals...

Urgh, don't think he'll be up the job- he's completely uninspiring. He's a right hand man, not a lead guy- he was a disaster when Stern fell ill in the lockout.

Stern was a net positive for the NBA... he's really grown the sport, especially internationally. But this should have happened more than a few years ago. He's a little out of touch at the moment.

Bird/Magic/Jordan saved and progressed the NBA Stern just happened to have the best view as it took place.

No commish is loved in any sport.

Selig, Goodal, Stern or Bettman.

All are not liked.

They work for the owners not the fans.

Stern "didn't phuch it up" might be a fair statement but if he did the owners would fire him and get someone who got the job done.

Silver has been there awhile and has the owners respect. For a fan to "not feel it" is kind of silly.

Good for the NBA for not starphuching to get a commish.

Silver is very qualified and gets cheered by the fans where Stern got the boo's in the draft.

In time Silver will get booed also. NOt right away.

Stern steered the ship for 30 years. Maybe that says a lot. He never was fired for Phuching up. If so, then he did a good job.

Stern's smug arrogant demeanor has really bugged me more the past few years, especially during the lockout. His comments on the Rome show were way out of line and a day later he fined Amare for calling a guy a school yard taunt.

stern SUCKED as a commissioner. he ruined the purity and integrity of the team game in pursuit of commerce. marketing stars and loosening the rules to promote one on one play have made the game increasingly unwatchable. league bloat and talent dilution render the regular season and the first round pretty much meaningless. because he is greedy and arrogant and condescending the league has become an extension of these character flaws.

he rode magic and bird and exploited jordan.

good riddance to this lowlife. why can't we get an ex-ballplayer in there instead of this douche silver?

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

My point exactly, already you don't like Silver.

What you said about stern you can say about all modern day commish.

Stern is a dick, was always a dick and always be one.

It don't matter, he is not there for the fans to like him.
