Felton to Nets: Less talk, more hoops
By Ian Begley

Sounds like Ray Felton is tired of hearing trash talk from the Brooklyn Nets.

During an appearance on Anthony Donohue's The Knicks Blog internet radio show, Felton was asked about the Knicks-Nets season opener on Nov. 1.

"All I'm going to say is tune in to the first game, that's all I'm going to say," Felton said. "I'm not going to say nothing. I'm not going to do all that extra blabbing and talking that I've been hearing about other people doing over on the other side. ... I ain't about that talking. I'm about mine when we step on the court, so we'll see when the time comes, when it's time to lace 'em up."

The Knicks and Nets close the preseason on Wednesday night at Nassau Coliseum. Eight days later, they will open the regular season against one another in Brooklyn.

Felton didn't say which Nets noise bothered him most. There are plenty of examples to choose from.

Over the summer, Brooklyn guard Joe Johnson said the Nets are "definitely" better than the Knicks. In a recent television interview, Brooklyn owner Mikhail Prokhorov took a shot at the Knicks, telling an interviewer, "Ah, oh, Knicks. Yes, I've heard about this second team in New York."

Prokhorov also dissed Knicks owner James Dolan, referring to him in New York Magazine as "that little man."

Felton said the Knicks-Nets rivalry is "good for the city, but all that extra trash-talking, I don't do much talking man. I'm just about business."

The Knicks' starting point guard was highly complimentary of Nets coach, Avery Johnson and the roster they're front office has put together, which includes Deron Williams, Johnson and Brook Lopez.

"Brooklyn's got a great team," Felton said.

He just doesn't want to hear them talk anymore.

Phuck Prokhorov
Phuck Joe Johnson
Phuck Barkley
Phuck Shaq
Phuck Bandwagon fans
Phuck Brooklyn!

YESSIR. That is how a KNICK is supposed to break it down.

Don't bother with all their hot air, just AIR THEM OUT come GameTime.

Phuck the Nyets, and ANYONE who is down for them.

NEW YORK KNICKS, baby. THAT is what it's about.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Last time you were complaining about his shooting altogether, you wanted him to stop outright... After the last game he went 5-7 from the three, now u complain about the stop and pop...We will see where u are next week...

I want him to take better shots. I don't think you know the difference.

If he can't take better shots, I would rather he stop shooting OR SIT.

I don't know the difference..Here is the problem..all here want guys they don't like to be perfect...Felton has to be perfect to get the thumbs up...He could hit 5-7 from the three and drop 23 pts but he needs to be better...He played like an all star last time here...If u listen to the board, it was Amare and Gallo who stared for the Knicks..Fortunately I watch the games, sometimes twice...He isn't sitting for anyone..He is balling!!!!

Man, does he make a killing off that corner 3!

He needs to stop and pop more from the baseline....

Knickshot...Right now, Felton is our second best option on the offense..Melo has no other help...Maybe u want Melo to jack 40 shots per game, I don't....It's preseason, He needs to get his legs under him...Keep shooting Felt!!!

That is exactly the point! The shots from the corner are probably assisted/off passes. To dribble the ball up the court and to pop kills us and him. Often he has the mindset of a score first PG instead of a pass first PG, the only problem with that is that he cant shoot.

When CB came down the court and stopped and popped, I was ok with it because it was a good shot.

Same for Melo (on a different scale). He often settles for the jumper when he should not.

You are wrong..Point Guards have to shoot to keep the defense honest...CB was the worst guy as far shot selection I have seen in my life..U want to talk hero ball, his picture is next to it..And u love it...I hated CB and his hero ball game....

Felton takes the stop and pop because he does not have the skills to dribble drive. He also does not have vision when dribbling the ball like other starting PGs. Felton is what he is. A tough PG that can defend and protects the ball very well. Offense will stall if you ask him to be a facilitator. He is what Melo needs. A PG to get him the ball for Melo ball.

I must be blind then because I could swear he blew by a few guys for lay ups all last week..

I wonder if Felton will ever get the nickname MrBigShot? Perhaps MrBrickShot is more suitable.

Again, this same logic of the PG has to shoot is what kept Tony Douglass shooting.

Rondo seems to know that he can't shoot and passes off many wide open shots.
