i hate to say it but we are actually better without him. I mean as long as camby/brewer are healthy we will be ok. I mean whta he gives you in points he also takes away with his defense. I still think he would be more effective off the bench even though he is making a ton of money

I have lost all faith in Amare ever being healthy. We have witnesses Amare's peak with the MVP half a season and the one game in the Playoffs. It is time to move on withouth him. Bring dude off the bench, if he ever gets healthy enough to play a single game this season. It is obvious him and melo will never gel and I am willing to put the team on melo's back. Amare's back can't even handle his own body weight.

Feel bad for the guy. Of course he sleeps on a bed made of 100 dollar bills, but, still, it's a sucky turn of events for someone who's obviously worked hard to get back into it.

People like to pick on melo but stat has been a bigger disappointment to go with his bigger salary. Hes damaged goods and will never be the same.
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

True but he was great in 2010. I mean we couldnt just pass on him because we would ahve left with nothing in the summer of 2010 and the fans would have been irate. I mean we all knew donnie was cleaning hous for 2 years in preparation for 2010 and we failed on getting lebron/bosh/wade so amare was the only other all-star. Also we now know melo wouldnt have waited for FA so we really had no choice

Yes.

Looking that way. We have two experienced PGs with the second unit who could make the most of what Stat has left. Two quality lineups to put on the floor with Stat off the bench.

This latest injury could be used as an excuse to gracefully transition him to the bench but Im guessing Woodson will probably wait to see how Melo and Stat play first before making that decision.

It will probably take another injury for this to happen, which is unfortunately looking like a matter of time.

Amare Stoudemire will be out two to three weeks with a ruptured popliteal cyst in his left knee, the New York Knicks announced after Sunday afternoon's practice at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.

Stoudemire returned to New York City Sunday morning to get a reevaluation of his knee, where he suffered a bone bruise on Oct. 10 during practice. An MRI then revealed the latest injury.

The left knee is the same one he had microfracture surgery on in Oct. 2005, when he was a member of the Phoenix Suns. While he missed basically the entire 2005-06 campaign, he came back stronger as ever in the following seasons.

Stoudemire has indeed been no stranger to injuries. He's had chronic knee problems, a partially detached retina in his right eye and lower back issues, which started in the 2011 NBA playoffs and continued toward the end of last season.

Stoudemire was said to be in top shape coming into the season, hardly missing a routine of two-a-days during the summer. Also, Mike Woodson has raved about Stoudemire's conditioning level in training camp.

Now, once again, the Knicks will be without their starting power forward during a key stretch -- this time starting on Nov. 1 to tip off the season, which includes matchups against the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers (twice).

The Knicks first face the Sixers on Monday night at the Carrier Dome, where Carmelo Anthony led the Orange to the 2003 NCAA championship.

I don't see our big 3 ever being cohesive together, they take away each other's room.
Amare works played his best when he is the alpha and with shooters that can open the lanes for him.
Atleast not until the post moves, foot work, and mid range shots of Tyson/Amare all kick in, hopefully by year 2.
Melo can play with Amare but Amare has to play C, at which our DEF/REBOUNDING will suffer.

Managment and Coaching staff just have to use this injury to allow "Amare" to come back in to game shape and NOT disrupt team chemistry with this injury as an excuse.
They are so busy trying to prove Amare can work with Melo.
I give credit to Amare for NEVER throwing Tyson under the bus but it is time to just accept they are what they are and NOT try to change them.
Camby might fit better with because he is much more mobile than Chandler, like JJ/Turiaf worked with Melo.
But all 3 just take too much away from each other.

We look much more cohesive with 4 shooters to spread the floor, especially with ball movement and floor spacing.

The biggest thing is we don't need Amare in and out of the starting lineup all season. Coach is going to have to step up and make Amare come off the bench.

Why not? We have Copeland.

And Felton just to another stop-and-pop 3 from half court.
