Stars should play in these games because they are in areas that don't have nba teams and the fans go to see them. However, the practice of not playing vets in back to backs in the preseason is the norm. Check out rotoworld player news to see how many vets were held out of back to back games.
I feel bad for the people that spent money on tickets, but from a selfish point of view, I'd rather we rested and can play properly on Monday. Fault lies with the nba schedulers- back to back games simply shouldn't happen in the preseason.
Also, why have 3g4g, vmart and TKF suddenly forgotten how preseason works? You've been fans for years, and you don't know what teams do in preseason?! Here's a refresher:
- Main players don't play in back to backs
- light injuries are treated more cautiously and players are kept out more often than they would be in the regular season
- teams look rusty
- players look rusty
- how teams look in preseason isn't how they look in the regular season
- it's f***ing preseason
Woody is faced with a choice- either try to get everyone healthy and miss out on time playing together, or prioritize playing together and risk further injury. It's a tricky choice, but I think Woody is making the right call. It's frustrating, but you know what, I don't expect this team to win 100% of games instantly, and I'm patient enough to give them a few months to figure things out.
People say that the 'we need time to gel' fact is an excuse they're tired of hearing- but you know what, we turn the roster over every year which is why every year we're pretty much back to square one. This team needs time to gel and it needs to be healthy too.
