First game, 12 assist in 27 minutes, only one turnover, 5 rebounds and 3 steals? THAT PHUCKIN PISSES ME OFF!!!! Hopefully, he will spend extensive time on IR. I know, I am evil - so shoot me.
I wish that I could get excited about Felton but I just can't.
Misterearl, do you still thing that PABLO will have a better season then Lin? Can I get in on this bet?
Gallo 1-8 from the field, don't miss him at all.
Why the hell could we draft Kenny Faried!! 17 pts 11 rebounds on 7-11 from the field! SHUMPERT AIN'T NO FARIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the HOMERS hate to hear that but he is not even close.
I know ... its only preseason.
Don't worry...Felton will get you excited about Felton. Amari will get you excited about Felton. Everytime Felton opens the front page (or reads these Linsanity posts), Lin will give Felton extra motivation to out produce him. I'm not worried about Felton replacing Lin. Especially since Felton can hold his own on defense (at least better than Lin)....So Shump and Brewer can now concentrate on guarding the 2-3 positions, instead of guarding Lin's man.....
I'm satisfied with our decision to let Lin go, with the makeup of this team and coaching staff. As Lin gets healthier, he will turn into his slash and shoot first tendencies, and distribute as a 2nd or 3rd option. Love them or hate them, Felton and Kidd (even Pablo) are traditional PG's, that will make superstars better. And keep the flow of the offense consistant.
Right now Lin's shot is broken (always been inconsistant), so his second and third option is to pass (kinda like Marbury - Score first, pass second). We needed veteran facilitators with respect amongst NBA counterparts and leadership skills necessary to keep Melo and Amari in check. Lin was not the answer, but he wasn't the problem. He's not Rondo, Chris Paul, or D.Will....So why pay him that much (I know, it was 25 mil in the 3rd yr) when you can get the vets we have (with a deeper bench) at a lower price.
I don't get why people are so hung over this guy. I love underdog stories too....Something you can tell your kids about when putting to bed. But if you are trying to win a championship NOW while managing pre-madonas like Melo and Amari, Lin is not the answer (Faried is a different story - Should've drafted him). Don't forget how Lin made Chalmers look like "The Glove". And D-Will made him look like a D-Leaguer. The league has caught up to Lin. The fact that he's in Texas now, reduces the Linsanity affect, dims the hype slightly. But you couldn't tell when talking to disgruntled Knick (now Nets) fans. Why you think he didn't play half the season, when he was suppose to be 85%, but Brewer came back extremely early with the same injury? If I was Lin's agent, I would've told him to take a seat as well, so that he could get paid for his Linsanity hype, before the league catches up to him.
Even if Lin is killing in Houston (and I hope he does)...As long as Felton kills in NY, stays motivated, and can make the offense flow like he showed in preseason....I'm happy. Thats a win / win. Lin will be back on the market when his contract is up, and Dollan will have a chance to over pay him, like he's acustomed too. For now, get used to Felton and Kidd running the show.
It's amazing how Lin can turn down the chance to play in NY, and make the same money (add in the endorsements and Linsanity hype), with a mentor like Kidd off the bench. It was set up perfect for Lin. But going to Houston only shows how much he really didn't want to come back and play with Melo and Stat. When he has a chance to be the man in Houston. Why continue to beg for a guy that didn't want you? Don't listen to the hype, Lin chose Houston because of his mentor (Yao) and their Asian fan base with additional 25 million reasons to actually be the main guy in Houston. And they said Ivy League grads were intelligent?
