He was fifth in the league in offensive rebounding percentage as well. He'll clog up the lane and and be the focal point of the team's second-unit defense. New York allowed 97.8 points per game last year (11th in the league) and adding someone like Camby, who only creates more opportunities with his ability to rack up boards, can only help to keep that number in the league's top half."

I am disappointed we signed a player of his age considering his checkered history while giving up lots of assets in the process.
The Answer Man sincerely hopes your disappointment extends to the night Marcus Camby grabs 17 rebounds in The Garden.
Brittle? Kevin Love is out 6-8 weeks.
EXCELLENT POST MISTEREARL!!! I think there is simply too much "Debbie Downer" stuff going on in the media and with fans of the Knicks. Every year players of all ages get hurt and there's no real sense in thinking that just cuz a player is older that he's not worth bringing in. I think it's more important that the player has skills and talent that you need than worrying about age. Camby is still one of the best bigmen in the game!!! What young C could we have gotten that would be better than Camby??? Dude has a very sore muscle and people are acting like he broke his leg.
The Knicks are taking the right approach to small injuries. If a player this early in the process has a sore muscle or banged up joint, then let them get rest and fully heal. There's no reason to push veterans to play this early in a season. We've got to take the long term view of things. The most important thing is having everyone healthy when the playoffs come around. Who cares about missed Preseason games? All we should care about is letting the older vets get the rest they need to be strong at the end of the season when it's most important.
