...might just be my favorite player on the roster now.

I think overall this is one of the more likable bunches we've seen take the court and I'm still an unabashed admirer of Tyson Chandler--but Novak has a great story, seems like a decent guy and his stroke is an absolute thing of beauty.

Gymkata - they are all decent guys. Some may not conform to your image of what a decent guy is, and that's cool, but every player on the roster has been scrutinized from multiple levels and passed enough close inspection to qualify as a decent guy.

Novak has been described as playing more at ease with his first true NBA home, expressed in his $25M multi-year deal.

The stroke is pure. He shot 47 percent last year from three with a revolving door of guards. Running with Jason Kidd, Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton - Novak will have a blast this season.

The three point contest does not stand a chance.

No doubt, time to hit the tennis court to work off some of this energy. No personal foul intended.

Main point - Novak will be even better this season.

Shump is honestly my favorite. But I like all the guys on this roster. If they can make the right plays, space the floor, and get a rhythm going Novak will be even more effctive. We just need better shot selection. And this roster is certainly capable of doing that.

Novak is unlike other 3 pt specialist because he shoots more of them but still has an high avg. I believe most greats like Kerr and who ever avg 4 per while Novak is near 7 per. Throw in JR who avg a high number of attempts and keeps a good avg you have two deadly weapons.

Give me novaKaine!!!

We're fortunate to have him thanks to the arbitration case. You can't help but feel happy for the guy. After 7 years and never having a guaranteed contract to finally earning a big payday. He seems like a pretty nice dude too.

Novak could always play. He has finally found a home. New York provides a great backdrop (The Garden's theatre lighting does not hurt) and supportive fans. He plays with passion and is fearless. As cool as Shawne Williams was from the corner, Novak is automatic from anywhere.

Hit the open man.

I was never big on Novak's game because I thought he could be shut down with a defender on him with no effort, but he showed me something tonight...He was able to to take two dribbles and get his shot off...That's huge..We need Novak to be more than just a stand still shooter...When games matter, teams will D him up and being able to take that extra step then a J is huge...Hope this is part of his game permanently...

All of them? Jason Kidd has a history of domestic abuse and had a pretty bad DUI a few months ago. As much as I love Melo, he did tank part of last year to get MDA to quit. As for Felton, you should ask Portland fans what they think of his character. Ultimately of course, none of this matters. I'm not looking to go out and get a ****ing beer with these guys, I just want them to win.

I liked what I saw out of Steve Novak.

1. His 3 point shooting last year was not an aberration. His jumper is smooth as ever.
2. He has definitely improved his defense
3. He has worked on his spot up shooting...

I am glad we have him signed to a multi-year deal. This guy just keeps getting better.

What are you talking about? I specifically said that I don't care about this stuff, I was refuting misterearl's point that they're all decent guys. Next time try reading before spouting off.

The fact that you are bring it up is the problem...I have no clue what the issue with Felton in Portland was nor do u, but u didn't hesitate to post it...I hate Jason Kid, let me restate, hate, I will never bring up his personal problems...Still can't believe he is in a Knick uni...Melo tanked part of last year..How do u know this???...You can't ask a player like Melo or Bron, or Durant or any of the league high scorers in this game to stand in one spot and shoot..I don't care who the individual is, whether or not they are conscious of it, they will not run hard up court as the season go on....U can't ask Melo not to play his game and add confusion to his role, then expect total all out effort..It's human, it's natural, it will and can happen to anyone even u...But to his credit, he didn't shy away from it and laid it on the line and said hey I didn't play hard....I respect that..When he left Denver, he let the organization know he was leaving so they could get something in return unlike Bron, But sure he wanted his money too, but I respect that..U would respect Bron pretending like he didn't know what he was doing and being dishonest...But that's the way of the world and politics..Dishonesty is respected and revered as long as style prevails...

I really have to say I'm really impressed with the odd couple over all.

Novack look like he was holding his own defensively, fighting for tough rebounds in the paint and "throwing them blows".
The runner looked great, he was even helping with the offense with his dribble when guards got in trouble and we needed a rest............he was much more than a standstill three point shooter.

If Novack plays with activity, there is no reason he can't get 8-10 shots a game and average 12-15 pts. I'm hoping we make it a mission to get Cain 8 threes a game.

I like what I saw from Novak. He seems to be able to put the ball on the ground (2 to 4 dribbles) then shoot off the dribble. This will be great for getting by defenders that overplay the three and getting a shorter two point shot.

I was only responding to this "Gymkata - they are all decent guys. Some may not conform to your image of what a decent guy is, and that's cool, but every player on the roster has been scrutinized from multiple levels and passed enough close inspection to qualify as a decent guy." That's all. I specifically stated in my response that I don't care about this stuff only about their play on the court. I only brought it up as a rebuttal to the claim made. I don't know why you're throwing a hissy fit about it but after this response I'm done with this conversation.
