for the full MLE. He isnt playing as well in San as he was in Sac. He's a 6'10 do all player thats not great at anything but brings excellent versatility and basketball IQ. He can play both forward spots and even 2 guard off the bench. I could easily see him get more minutes with us.

He's a lot like Tim Thomas, without the athleticism. Athleticism seems to be Isiah's main requisite for new acquisitions.

While we're talking about MLE prospects... if we can't get Rasheed, how about Okur in Detroit? Now that they have Rasheed to team up w/ Ben (the Wallace's), playing time is a little limited moving into the future, assuming Rasheed disses the Knicks. His numbers project incredibly well over extended minutes, and he has a versatile offensive game to boot.

One last thing (a little off topic): Has anyone noticed how good Detroit has gotten since the trade for Rasheed? I think the main thing that's being overlooked is Ben Wallace's drastic drop in rebounds (averaging "only" 9 over the last 5 games, 4 below his season average of 13). He's now sticking his man more instead of going for boards and trying to do too much.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

hedo is good and should get only better. Do we need him ? I personnally think that we need more toughness and bang for buck than again versatility and shooting ability.

good idea, though.

I wouldn't take Hedo or Okur. If not Rasheed I think we should go after someone totally different like a Rodney White type.

A. None out there except Baker.
B. Like Frank Williams? Penny?
C. DerMarr? Penny? DerMarr is supposed be able to be able to shoot the lights out, but with Pennny, Houston, Anderson ahead of him, there is no way he (or anyone else) is going to get minutes.

im thinking long term, i dont think penny is a long term option. Demarr and FW are options but they will need to show serious bonafides going forward. if not they can easily be replaced.

Cs are in the draft--it depends on the possibility of landing a pick high enough to get 1 via trade.

getting back to competing for an nba championship, we will ultimatley need to have a C who can post up -we really have no post up players other than baker and that is not a long term solution at all. I think other than Sweetney, we could use an athletic 4 and a real 5. Until we have those things, we have no chance at competing for a title. Clev is much closer to competing for a title than we are. They still have needs--but they have better younger parts in place at the 3-4-5.

if we can't get someone like Rasheed than i'll be perfectly happy with Sweetney as our starting PF next year.

I mention Turkoglu because of the way the Kings play... Turk isnt a stud himself but he's fundamentally good at everything. When you have 3-4 guys with great fundamentals and high hoops IQ everything becomes easier.

Briggs... a C with high skills is a no-brainer, but I think you have to keep trying to improve even if you cant get one. I think if Nazr continues his nice play we could have an extra very nice trading piece (or at least stop gap player while we develop someone we get in the draft).

Hedo is a weird player, a big guy who can pretend to be a guard. I don't have a real feel for him as a player

Are you saying the MLE isn't enough for a soon-to-be 25 year old, former 2nd round pick who has at most averaged 22 mpg (this year)and has been fighting chronic back problems?

Not to say he's bad... but how do we know he's really THAT good... and who's to say he'll want to stay in Detroit when a teams like San Antonio, Phoenix, and Atlanta can offer him more? (not to mention there's nicer weather elsewhere!)

kVH is better than the turk. We go with timmay, thats the plan.

Im down with trying to get Sheed in a sign and trade for kt. will take a 3 way.

Dallas needs to unload Twain or Tone. They need less athletes and more stud power. I like Jamison at our small forward. But what of Timmay?

Other than sheed and drafting a euro monstars, we don't need much.
what about Turkoglu?
