If they plan to use JR as sixth man(which I think is solid) who will start?

I think that it might be Kidd.

Makes sense--Felton can score and Kidd spreads the floor with the 3 ball.

Yeah - unfortunately, I am not a really big Felton fan. He does bring some nice things to the table but I think he shoots way too much and is not that good at it.

I just hope this doesn't make JR go postal. How long is Woody going to watch opposing 2's or 1's (if Felton switches on D) burn Kidd's azz?

Maybe White for size, but Pablo wouldn't be a bad option if he can shoot like this.

Kidd might be be a hold down fort backup at this point in his career.

Yeah I read somewhere that White was impressive in training camp prior to getting hurt.

With Pablo so far proving to be a solid backup PG, Kidd should start at SG.

JR isnt mature enough to start. Off the bench he dishes, rebounds and defends. When he's earning his minutes he's great. When hes the starter its 30 foot 3's. Dude takes a page right out of the Antoine Walker book of shot selection

JR is better as a sixth man. I know he wanted to start, but he just too much of a scorer to play with the starters. We need a spark plug off the bench to give the 2nd unit some punch. He can keep his aggressive mentality as it works better with a less potent 2nd unit. JR looked GREAT last night. He's in tremendous shape, much slimmer than last year. He looks quicker and sharper. His jumper looks much tighter and in rhythm. I think he's ready for a big year.

Woodson isnt dumb. There is a reason Landry started in the playoffs despite the fact that he is awful. There are barely enough balls to go around for melo and amare. It makes no sense. James White will start til Brewer is ready. Hopefully white impresses and holds the fort til shump returns. We could really use a shooter to spread the floor for melo and amare.

By shooter I dont mean a guy who puts up 15 shoots in 10mins but more like 4 shots in the flow of the offense

Not that I'm advocating that JR should start, but what basis do you have to make such sweeping statements??..He started one game last year...

And not to pile on, but off the bench he's 20 points and 6 assists, and starting, he's suddenly Antoine Walker? At least you didn't say Jamal Crawford.

I prefer JR off the bench for scoring purposes. Brewer should start until Shump is ready to rumble. Brewer should be ready for the start of the season but will only have a few weeks to practice and get in shape for the start of the season if he stays on schedule.

If Brewer isn't ready I would go with Kidd at the 2 for the time being with JR off the bench and Priggs backing up Ray.

I like Kidd starting a the two...Very heady player who knows his role...Another passer with good vision on the court would only help the Amare/Felton/Kidd/Melo/Chandler gelling process...I like Prigs as the back-up off the bench as well, he looked good in his first game...Unfortunately, this team looks like it has no room for youngsters..Can't wait for Shrump to get back...Man this team looks mentally tough...I absolutely love it..All our PGs are tough..Felton, Kidd and Prigs...

Kidd is a nice fit at the 2. He's shown he can defend 2 guards, spread the floor, and make the right plays. It never hurts having two pg's on the floor.

Even if Brewer was playing I wouldn't be surprised if Kidd was starting. Only real issue is not enough shooting in the starting lineup.
