Guys have been riding Houston's ballsack for hitting that last second shot against Miami but, IF Spree doesn't make that big defensive play, coming up with that clutch steal Houston does not become the Hero of MSG. Miami had the ball with under 24second left on the clock, Knicks down 1 - it looked like it would be the last possession of the game. Spree comes up with the clutch steal, gets the ball to Allen and the rest is History.
If Spree doesn't get that steal, Miami advances instead of New York.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

and if allan don't make that shot you don't remember "THE STEAL" most likely either.

Thanks for the reminder.

just want props given to those who deserve it. Cause and Effect with Spree=Case and Allan=Effect. They were an effective tandem but, Spree never gets the Props he deserves from MSG because he came back, took Houston to school and cursed Dolan out (which, many of us would love to do)

Spree was something!

I wonder what has become of him?

Me too...he seems to have gone underground like LJ did after he retired. Wish MSG would end the vendetta against him and give us and look and Knicks#8 Sprewell.

Spree is my favorite post-classic era Knick alongside BK and Ewing.

The only thing he left behind was a beached yahcht and a bunch of bad tax returns.

And just like BK and Ewing, his game should have ended better here, and not elsewhere.

What could have been...

To be Fair, the Keith Van Horn trade turned out to be a good one. He played better than I ever expected at least equaling Spree's point percentage as well as being a very very good rebounder. He turned out to be better than I thought he was. IT never should have traded the Storming Mormon for Tiny Timm.

Marbury's experience with KVH in Jersey caused Isiah to pander to his new star. They played well together but Marbles had juice in his card and he used it. KVH crime? The goofy hair and high socks.

Is there truth to this or is/was it just a assumed?

There have been rumors that you and Stephon Marbury weren't on the same page and weren't getting along and haven't gotten along dating to the days when the two of you played for the New Jersey Nets. How is your relationship with Marbury?

KVH: I haven't spoken to anyone from the New York media since the trade, so I don't know where that came from. I thought Steph and I played very well together this year. We helped bring that team from where it was struggling early into a good situation where they are vying for a good playoff position. I felt good about the direction we were headed there.

its all been out there. KVH and most NBA players usually don't air the dirty laundry but It was there.

well, after reading those articles, I get the impression that this was more media driven than player driven which, still makes me wonder if it was just writers trying to sell papers though, I can see Steph giving him attitude for what he likely considered underachieving. Also sounds like Steph was the same locker room cancer there that he was with us.

The all alone on his sneakers I remember but, if anything that was an indictment of the entire team, not something that should be pointed squarely at VanHorn.

OK, we are way off topic now so, I'll quit before this becomes a Steph/VanHorn thread :)

That KVH for TT was the most baffling trade in the history of knicks trades..I always Like TT, that guy had more potential then any player I have ever seen and kept showing glimpses of greatness..But the career 4rbs a game was what killed it for me. As soft of a label KVH got he at least avg 8rbs.

Spree, allan, walt, ewing, and starks are my all time favorite knicks, but they all had there own issues..
