What MJ guy are you talking about? Mark Jackson??? Even though he was born in NY he was raised and went to NC Schools. Lets talk about local products here. I'm going to list three guys.

Number 3 = Stephon Marbury
Number 2 = Jamal Mashburn
Number 1 = Chris Mullin

What do you think???

i think they are saying micheal jordan since he was born in crooklyn. but he only lived there in a short period of time to move to north carolina. so i would'nt count him. there are a lot, mostly point guards. i guess i can only go by my generation (1985 < x). i liked bernard king, kenny anderson, rod strickland, jamal mashburn, steph ( of course), mark jax, chris mullin, crazy mase, skip to my lou and malik sealy ( r.i.p).difficult to pick just one.

Dr J, Hawkins, Billy C, Abdul Jabbar!, Mullins and Jax cuz they NYC and STAYED in NYC!

Clyde. I know he from ATL, but he has helped forged NYC cred as much as anyone.

Managoat, Helicopter Heinz, and Skip are legend.

Marbury and Kareem.

I don't consider Jordan a real new yorker, since he was born here but moved very early in his life

Jordan doesn't count.

I think Benard King was a bad dude. He's my favorite player all time. Before he got hurt I'd put him ahead of anybody as far as scoring is concerned.

Kareem was obviously great too but he doesn't have a New York history. You know....like a street cred. I almost forgot the guy went to Power Memorial back in the day.

Vinny Johnson grew up with my pops in Bushwick Brooklyn.

Kareem is top 5 center of all time, and from NYC.

Bernard was a killer! When he grew up he was a bad man.

Jordan is not no NYC baller, no way!

my picks are, KAREEM / KING / MULIN / STEPH. although mulin was'nt that athletic, he had serious game cause he was sooo smooth, and was a smart player. (ahla bird)
