Though Anthony didn’t say it, it could also be that he has finally learned from LeBron James, who guided the Heat to his first title by doing a lot more than ringing up big scoring totals. Anthony’s playoff resume, meanwhile, is checkered: In eight of his nine seasons, he has gone out in the first round.

“For me personally, I’m in my 10th year,’’ Anthony said. “Everyone pretty much knows I can score the basketball. But for me to challenge myself, instill the trust into my teammates to give them that confidence when they do shoot the ball, to have that confidence that they can make it happen as well. “I’m done trying to score 35, 40 points to win the basketball game. I don’t want that role anymore. I can do it. That’s what I do. But in order for this team to be successful, for guys we have right now, we need a more well-rounded team. If I have to sacrifice on the offensive end, I’m willing to do it. It’s easy for me to sit here and say it. But this year it’s going to be locking in and doing it as the leader of this team.’’

“We’re not paying attention to that this year,’’ Anthony said. “I spoke to [Stoudemire]. Nothing’s going to come between us in our locker room. We will be a tight group this season.’’

Sounds like the infidels have tore down the walls of Melo. Near 10yrs of mediocre results will do that to a player. Wish they would have been a 'TIGHT GROUP' last season

Yeah Jamal, Nate, Al Harrington used to talk about the same stuff for the most part before the season kicked off and then we saw something totally different.

I think this team will have very high and low moments this year. The rest of the East is too good unfortunately and our age is going to show up often

If "he" doesn't tell D'Antoni to put Lin in the NJ game, Lin is playing in China or overseas in Europe. Lin basically owes Carmelo commissions for saving his NBA career.

And the fact that you believe that he has the power to trade himself here, fire the coach all by himself and sign-up his boys, and tell the team not to resign Lin is delusional...

I think it hilarious that your outlet to Lin leaving is to blame Melo...Lin is in Houston right now talking about being a leader of the Rockets, exactly what he was looking for...

EXACTLY, maybe lin would still be here... but hey, he got rid of all the outsiders and glory stealers and got his "boys" in the house now.. watch out!! LOL

If "he" doesn't tell D'Antoni to put Lin in the NJ game, Lin is playing in China or overseas in Europe. Lin basically owes Carmelo commissions for saving his NBA career.

lol.. you keep regurgitating that mess.. that fact that you believe it is just amazing...

And the fact that you believe that he has the power to trade himself here, fire the coach all by himself and sign-up his boys, and tell the team not to resign Lin is delusional...

he had a hand in all of that hapenning....

And you this for certain because you feel it in your toes? Have grape veins sprouting in your backyard? The oldman that sits in the park fesding birds told you? How do you know this exactly?

I think it hilarious that your outlet to Lin leaving is to blame Melo...Lin is in Houston right now talking about being a leader of the Rockets, exactly what he was looking for...

exactly what we are still looking for on the knicks.. a leader!

That's for high schoolers, Melo, Chandler and Amare are the leaders...Perfect example, Lin said it's like college all over again coming into camp with Houston...

I don't know whether Harvard should be happy or Houston should be insulted...
