http://www.knicksjournal.com/2012/09/gallinari-looking-to-bring-back-isiah.html

With media and fans alike buzzing for all the wrong reasons with the rumors that Isiah Thomas may be returning to New York, a former Knickerbocker is also chiming in.

Speaking at an Italian function, former fan-favorite Danilo Gallinari recognized last week's meeting between Thomas & Knicks' owner James Dolan, and his comment (said in Italian) can be loosely translated to "Isiah Thomas back to the Knicks? That's the reason New York will never win."

One has to wonder whether Gallo was specifically knocking the job Thomas did during his tenure in the Big Apple, or simply implying that even considering bringing him back signifies New York is not an organization with a winning mentality. Either way, the sentiment is clearly the same.

The former Knicks forward's comments are still a bit surprising, not necessarily because of what he said, but that he actually said it. Most players have publicly supported Thomas despite all the twists and turns during his unsuccessful tenure.

By the time his own career in an orange and blue uniform came to an end, Gallinari was showing signs of becoming a very special player. Diversifying his game in hopes of not being pigeonholed as a "one trick pony," Gallo worked on effectively driving to the basket, successfully getting fouled again and again.

Now a member of the Nuggets, Gallinari was limited to 43 games and averaged 14.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest last season Despite his underwhelming finishing numbers, the forward was in fact playing like a fringe NBA all-star before succumbing to an injury right before the league's midseason break.

He's right.

But don't twist his words around, OP. He said they'd never win with moves like re-hiring Isiah Thomas.

get your own ass out of the 1st round before worrying about this team. Worry about your kooky ass Coach before worrying about what's going on in the Garden.

These former Knicks kill me....1st they don't want to leave, then they act like pissed old Girlfriends.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Isiah Thomas hasn't been re-hired. The "That's why the Knicks will never win" statement doesn't apply if it's based on the re-hiring. He apparently is basing it on other reasons as well. It can't totally henge on that. It's clear that he feels the team will never win....no matter what his reasoning is. That's pretty clear.

gallo is 100% correct... this goes to show that Isiah was most likely always around the knicks.... No one really respects this organization, from analyst to players to other coaches around the league, and there is good reason for it... knicks fans can get pissed at gallo all they want, but the truth hurts, I am glad he said it....

looking at the box score, carmelo had the damn nerve to take 30 shots.. the clown shot 10-30, while amare just managed to get 9 shots.... this dude is not only full of himself, but he doesn't care about his teamates at all..

BTW, moz clearly outplayed chandler as well, especially if you look from a statistical standpoint..

fields also had a very solid game.....

maybe if someone wasn't jacking up 30 shots some of those could have been re-directed to guys who were actually hitting shots..

If he thought Isiah was coming back, or the way it was asked to him then its a valid answer.

If Thomas is rehired the culture of winning is kind of not the point is it?

I did not realize he was injured most of last season.

Its not Gallo Vs. Melo. BUt thats an old issue isn't it.

I guess there is a lot to prove for Gallo this season. The teams have moved on and both seem better for it.

So we can be happy for his success right? I hope the guy becomes a big star. He has worked hard and has a lot of talent.

Now if he is lifting a walter kennedy trophy and the MVP of the finals Dolan will look stupid!

Not that he needs any help from former players!

Back to point, if Dolan rehires Thomas I agree with Gallo. I can never turn my back on the knicks but a Isiah resurrection would take me to the limit. My fear is the Knicks would win with Isiah and im looking stupid!

Not that I need help!

Don't forget his 6 turnovers too. He had something to prove and hit an off game I guess. But then you ****ing finds other ways to contribute other than wasting a total of 26 possessions.

That second box score is amazing though - Winning a game with the starting line up consisting of

Pg: DWTDD
Sg: Billie Walker
F: Gallo
F: T-Mac
F/"C": David Movaphuckin LEE

yea, that second box was crazy, kind of reminds me of the ways we were winning with lin, jeffries, novak and walker in the lineup.... for some reason, those types of gutty performances with guys giving their all is much more exciting to follow and easier to root for....

notice that game, nene got 6 shots I think.. LOL.. 6... Jeez, I know it has to be a drag playing with that guy..

fail.. dude gallo played all of 18 min.... what I did notice is that Al harrington gave the nuggs the bizz with 41 points.. it still took 50 points from the pumpkin head chucker and 32 points from billups to barely beat that knicks team.....

just face it man, gallo was right, you can hate that he said that all day, but he is 100% correct... after walsh was run out for not wanting to pull the trigger on that ridiculous trade, the hyena's came and took over the kingdom.. somewhere I hope there is a young "simba" coming here to rescue us from this mess...
