Look most fans know that Barkley hates the Knicks but he never has a good thing to say about them. Now he is making fun of their age and saying the nets are much better than us. Hell even Francesa who despises the jets gives them props from time to time. I really think the knicks will prove barkley wrong and have a great year

There are few sure things in life. Death, taxes, and Barkley dissing the Knicks. Until we prove his weight watchers ass wrong in the playoffs, he'll continue his anti-Knicks bias.

I don't go to Chuck for his objectivity, or his analysis of the game, but I have to admit, for 29/30 teams in the league, I'm pretty entertained by his comments.

Barkley is a moron and a Knick hater, I don't know how anybody could say the Nets have a better team when you look at both rosters the Nets have no bench and the only positions the Nets are better at is starting SG and PG

Me too. He does have blinders on when it comes to the Knicks but he is entertaining and funny as hell. Beats another dry commentator.

Does he have blinders on? If so, what over the past decade did he not see that he should have?

Even in those rare moments when the Knicks have played well he finds a way to insult them.

Charles has been correct.

Knicks are the only ones who can discredit him.

This moments were so rare he missed them all.
If somebody on Knicks team will work hard and rebound like he did I will be heappy. But I doubt that this is possible.

He didn't miss them, Barkley just can't bring himself to say anything nice about the Knicks. Camby is a one of the best rebounders in the league and a hard worker. Tyson is a good rebounder and a hard worker. You compare a HOFer to everyone else and its no surprise that they almost always come up short.

exactly.. yea, charles may be bitter, but I do know he is good friends with ewing and he is bitter at how the knicks have treated ewing post retirement.. and I am with him on that.... For example, we give Hakeem a job, and I like Hakeem, have no problem with the dream, but Ewing has played a key role in the development of Dwight Howard and also worked with yao... there is a body of work there with ewing and he still can't get a sniff at a real gig with the franchise he carried for over a decade.

chuck has been right, the knicks have every year to quiet him, and so far they keep proving him right...

You make a good point about Ewing, and I agree, however Hakeem has a direct tie to our coach so I can understand Woodson reaching out to Olajuwon. Also, Hakeem was a more accomplished post-player than Ewing was and Hakeem's effect on other bigs (and smalls in the case of Lebron and Kobe) have been perhaps a little more effective not to mention more hyped up. Hakeem has been the flavor of the year or last 2 years aswell.

Despite Ewing still being on the outside looking in, we do have former Knicks still involved with the organization in various positions from Clyde, to Houston, to Starks, to Herb and now LJ....

I can understand Barkley's hard feelings towards the Knicks, but I am in a quandry as to where Ewing will fit in. Does he want Herb's job? Big man development. Or should he get Woodson's HC position. That lineage went from D'antoni to Woodson. Woodie came from a HC position to an assistant's spot, and then to head coach again. Would it have killed him to coach D League for a year? Show his chops? Unless Patrick catches on with another team, it's gonna be a loooong wait.

Yeah I like Ewing, but as we all witness the head to head match up in game 7 of the 94 finals with Hakeem..In fact..I would go as far and say Hakeem had his way with Ewing in that series. That's not to say Ewing didn't hold is own, its just that hakeem had too many moves for ewing to keep up..

You don't see players calling up Ewing for moves or tips..

As far as barkely's comments, he's essentially right about the knicks (not about the comparisons with the nets), we just need to prove him wrong..

but that doesn't necessarily mean much when it comes to teaching.. there are a lot of good coaches and teachers, who were never great at their position that make great teachers... hakeem worked with kobe on footwork, and that was more of a touch up for a very accomplished player.. the work ewing did with a very raw dwight stands out more to me.. his work with yao was also important in his development..

again, I have no problem with hakeem, but this organization hasn't done Ewing right... and I am not sure why...

Ewing forced a trade that hurt the Knicks for years and Dolan isn't forgetting that. He could have waited until the end of the season where a deal could have been worked out which would have been good for himself and the Knicks and he knew that. He didn't care what happened to the Knicks going forward, he just wanted out. Nice goodbye present for the fans. Ewing lasted a season in Seattle.

I thought Dolan should have welcomed him back earlier and held the grudge for too long but Ewing can't say that he is blameless in this. Just read what Hakeem was saying about what the Knicks should do. He is clearly a much better communicator than Ewing and that's a big part of coaching. Its why players are flying from all over the country, if not the world, to learn from him and not Ewing.

LOL. How about a game that he is covering where the Knicks are scoring more pts than the other team. Not where they are in the rankings, not who their owner is, not what are their prospects for the rest of the season, what they are doing during the game that he's covering.

As I said before, I enjoy watching Barkley whenever he is covering any other team but the Knicks because he usually doesn't give much in the way of commentary other than "who cares? The Knicks suck". Not exactly what I would call in depth analysis. Doesn't mean that I disagree with him that they haven't been a very good team and more often than not a bad one. When the subject of how far they will go in the season comes up I don't mind him ripping the Knicks to shreds.

Good point about the coaches and its very true. Also, would love to see the Knicks find a place for thier all time scorer and arguably the best player in franchise history. However, answer me this. For all the work that Ewing did with Dwight, why did he still feel necessary to seek Hakeem out when he see's Ewing everyday in practice?
