Disgruntled White plays with (f)ire

BOSTON - Rodney White was mad. He took it out on the Boston Celtics.

White, a Denver Nuggets forward, sat out the first half Wednesday and stewed. He finally entered the game with 4 minutes, 57 seconds left in the third quarter and the Nuggets trailing 75-64.

"It was frustrating I didn't get in in the first half," White said. "I just took my frustrations out on the court."

It almost led to a comeback win. Playing the rest of the game, White shot 6-for-9 and scored 13 points.

The Nuggets took an 89-84 lead early in the fourth quarter, but they faltered down the stretch and lost 104-100.

"This whole year has been like a trial," said White, referring to inconsistent minutes he receives under coach Jeff Bzdelik. "He's tried to take me out of the game. But I fought my way back in. Hopefully, that showed him.

"I don't understand why I'm not playing and why he goes away from me. But that's the coach's decision. . . . But I feel like I bounce back every time, although it seems like nobody notices."

At times this season, White has been in the rotation. Other times, he has played sparingly.

"You know what?" Bzdelik said. "I don't have to explain playing time."

Bzdelik mostly was complimentary of White's game Wednesday, saying, "He gave us a big lift."

But Bzdelik was critical of a three-pointer White took with less than a minute left and Denver trailing 101-99.

"You have to ask whether Rodney lost track of the score and the time as a young player in that situation, which he hasn't been in before," Bzdelik said. "That is where experience comes into play."

White said he had a "good look." He called it a "good shot that just hit the back of the rim."

i like rodney white. hes the kind of player that will play well with a stephon marbury and hes like getting a draft pick[only 23 with 3 yeasr nba experience] he's not an all-world defender,but he's a BIG 2 or 3 at 6-9 235. Id much rather have Rodney over demarr johnson.

thats the way i would go if i was this team---go after 1-YOUNG semi-proven talent,1 young proven talent who hasnt gotten the props--troy hudson type bring in some second round draft picks and give them a shot to make the team--this is if we arent players for raweed etc.. the next best thing is to improve the bench and get younger/more athletic. if we are not able to land a big man[which is very possible]

you get a combination of younger players like Troy Hudson Rodney White and perhaps 1 draft pick from the 2nd round. Troy Hudson would make a lot of sense for this team because we need a 6th man who can play either 1-2 and be able to log big minutes if needed.


guys that i dont believe will return are demarr moochie and we will go into different directions with players like cesary Try Deke Harrington and hopefully kurt thomas likely via trade. Vin Baker can only be relied upon as a back up.
