On this forum I think some people forget how special of a shooter/scorer Allan Houston was even trying to compare him to Novak is an insult, This video is in example of how versatile Allan was offensively, yea he wasn't a great defender or rebounder but he played hard and was an underrated passer as well. Houston wasn't as aggressive as I felt he should have been and was not a high volume shooter and if he was I think he could have easily averaged 25 a game but he was what he was and despite his flaws I wish we had a shooting guard like him today.

He should run his own shooters camp like Hakeem!

How about Houston dueling it out with Kobe? Kobe had 40 but Houston had 53.

I see Howard Eisley, Shandon Anderson, Michael Doleac and Clarence Weatherspoon in that video against the Lakers so I know the Knicks were really bad!

P.S. - Shaq was sidelined for that 53 point Houston game, doubt he goes off like that, let alone win that game if Shaq's healthy.

He should run a contract signing camp too!

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Lol like signing Houston for $100 million was a good thing. It was like Scott Layden's parting gift to the Knicks.

Scott Layden.

Ed Tapscott was the GM that drafted Frederic Weiss. Layden took over in 1999 and was fired in December of 2003

From Wikipedia:

On July 23, 2001, Knicks shooting guard Allan Houston re-signed as a free agent to a 6-year, $100M guaranteed contract that would keep him in New York until the 2006-07 season, when he would be 35. The signing made Houston, who had never averaged 20-points-per-game in a season at that time, the highest-paid player in franchise history. This transaction put the team "well over $80 million in payroll this season [2001]." Houston retired after the 2004-05 season with chronic knee complications; there was roughly $40,000,000 left on his contract.

Such a terrible legacy for a decent dude. He still has the runner against the Heat and 53 point game againt Kobe!

Houston attributed his knee problems later on in his career to playing injured all the time and then rushing himself back after microfracture knee surgery in order to help the team, he was a warrior it's not his fault Knicks gave him 100 mil

Sucks but he never lived up to $100 million. Makes me scared of Amare's uninsured contract already due to his constant health issues. I'm hoping Stat doesn't have the same legacy as Houston's.
