I've been thinking about last year's playoffs and I still really feel IF IF IF...

If chandler didn't have the flu
If Amare didn't hit a fire hydrant
If Lin was 100%
If Shump didn't go down
If Baron Davis didn't go down

i mean, that's almost a starting line up that we lost pretty much during the series.

I don't know, maybe it's me, but i'm pumped for this year's playoffs...

We now have addressed the above with:
Camby backs up chandler
Kurt thomas backs up Amare
Felton replaces Lin
Ronnie Brewer replaces Shump AND shump will be back
jason Kidd replaces Baron Davis

Everything else remains pretty much intact.

I'm pumped for next year...that game that we won when Amare returnes WITH A CAST is all i remember.

We just have to keep it together...

I believe the secret weapon will be Shump, losing him was a mighty mighty blow.

Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Well I wanted more youth involved going into the season...I really wanted Lin to come back...I liked him off the bench in a scoring role as apposed to competing with Amare and Melo for shots...Felton who have been great with Amare again..Lin and Felton playing equal minute given the ebb and flow of the game...Shump is a big loss, year two could have been great for him...I'm not crazy about adding KT and Kidd...The East just have too many young horses for us to be loading up on older players..The key for me will be Amare as always...Then if healthy and productive, how Amare, Melo and Chandler play together...But we will have to see how this team gels into Feb before we can assess what they really are....

Good post. The other glaring issue IMHO is that even if Amare is back and playing well, him and Chandler on the court at the same time does not really work. Curious to see how Woody deals with that.

I think it's just a spacing issue. At least we have a training campe to work it out.

I don't like watching highlights of Shump, just in case he doesn't regain his athleticism- his injury in the playoffs just depresses me. At the time I thought it was just terrible luck. Then Baron Davis went down with an even worse injury, and I realised we are cursed! Losing BD and Shump, made this offseason more complicated than it needed to be, but it looks like we managed to find replacements for them.

Really hope Shump makes a full recovery, but we're going to have to be really patient.

Wow. Now Amare and Chandler are incompatible. I thought the main issue was Amare and Melo not playing nicely with each other...

Agree it can be worked out in camp. I don't really think we'll need a Pete Carril to help Woody figure out how to run O with a primarily defensive 5 and an offensive 4 with Dreamshake moves...
