In the spirit of the worst trade, the Knicks have made some made draft picks over the years. I love speculating who the Knicks should have taken in particular years, but do you have one?

I have always wondered how things would have been different if the Knicks had taken Clyde Drexler in 1983 at #12, instead of Darrel Walker. Or even better had they not traded away their two 1st round picks in 1987, picks which became Scottie Pippen and Derrick McKey (which the likes of Kevin Johnson and Reggie Miller available.)

Obviously, you can just list the best player we passed up. In general, though, can you imagine if we don't trade for McDyess and draft Amar'e? Camby, Amar'e, Van Horn or Sprewell, Houston, on the same team. Would've been a good franchise for all these terrible years we've had.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Andrew Bynum over Channing FN Frye. Balkman over Rondo isn't as bad because it was later in the draft not the 7th overall pick

If they didn't trade for Dice I wondered if we would've still drafted Nene to play with Camby. The Knicks never get anything right. I know for a fact Amare was problably not even in their radar. Maybe the next Frederic Weis was tho

I also suspect we were still drafting Nene. Nene is not a bad pick by any stretch, but Amar'e was a stud. What really killed the Nuggets was drafting Tskitishvilli in the same draft. That was an awful pick.

Tskitishvilli was the next Dirk. The knicks were in love with him and so was I. Boy was everyone wrong!

I bet the Knicks would've taken him over Nene and Amare. Like I said the next Frederic Weis. You know I was at that disaster of a draft in the Theater @MSG. Still have the "Lucky 7" towels they handed out. Yea really lucky trading for Dice!!!

Artest over the French dude that got teabagged by Vinsanity. Also, Walter McCarty over Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Renaldo Balkman over Rajon Rondo.

1983 Darrell Walker... we should've gotten Clyde Drexler instead. Then 2 years later we had Patrick Ewing.. Imagine the possibilities. Also when we got Nene, we should've gotten Amar'e Stoudamire, but that was a stretch because Stoudamire only auditioned for Phoenix.

+1
Almost nothing can compare to the waste that was Frederick Weis.

I know we all love Willis Reed by default, but exchanging Larry Bird for Michael Ray Richardson would be top priority setting for the time machine. Although with Larry Legend, we are most likely not in the lottery come Ewing time...still...

My top 3 botches:

1)Frederic Weis over Ron Artest
2)Channing Frye over Andrew Bynum
3)Jordan Hill with Stephen Curry if GS didn't cokblock us. Or we could've drafted any of these point guards instead: Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holiday, Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague, Eric Maynor

The Weiss pick. I really wanted Artest. The dyess trade/nene pick, and the balk pick. Those are the ones that haunt me There are others.

WE do realize all teams wiff on picks right?

The worst of it all are the picks we traded all those years to feed Patricks need for veterans in attempt to "win now".......

For a long time we had no draft regret because we trade them away

Ill say Stoudemire Ron Harper Sprewell and Bynum.

The best credit that I can think of was the back to back with Strickland and Mark Jackson. While it did not work out for the Knicks--those were awesome back to back picks in the draft.

Bynum, Artest, Rondo.... taking Jordon Hill sucked ass too, but we would have traded whoever in order to clear that cap space.

1. Fred "Tapscott" Weis was awful. I can understand why we did not pick Ron-Ron as he might have imploded faster and larger had he stayed in NYC. Migranes and elbows, suspensions and fights would have been on the knicks watch? ON paper we needed a center to replace Ewing. Reality was I don't think Ed Tapscott ever saw this dude play! If anyting he was victom to the greatest dunk ever! Vinsanity nut jump dunk in the olympics!

The reaction from vince was perhaps a great reason for refs world wide to help temper down the celebrations. First of all he nearly destroys Kevin Garnetts face with his exuberance! Then the two of them are woofing it up pretty good. Why was Vince so mad? Why the angry preening? What a douchebag! Garnnet was that kind of manic doucheback himself!

2. NO doubt in hindsight Bynum the better pick and we should have developed him. But think about the words "Develope" and "Knicks" and you realize its not used in a sentence often. I understood where Isiah was going with Frye and he did have a good rookie year. But then his knee bent the wrong way and it never got "Straight" after that.

3. Jennings over Hill was the right call. Jennings was an arrogant prick who had not shown much in europe but Donnie admits this was a bad read. HIll proved to be a bit lazy and found himself in the MDA outhouse. HOliday and Lawson still needed time to mature as do most points. Teague and Maynor might not have gotten much play. Hill would be a nice player for us now off the bench. I think MDA would have either ruined Jennings or he'd be even better with a "LinTense" touches. By now Melo would have run him off.

Even if the Knicks drafted Andrew Bynum he would've been traded along with two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks for QRich or Mo Taylor
