Knicks fans are not pissed off enough to make Jimmy scared of keeping the team we all love. Other than that, I can care less about the Nets coming back to NYC. I'm an optimist, and I believe Jimmy Dolan will sell the Knicks soon...
Are you kidding? I want the whole nets thing to blow up. I want this team to turn into the Anderson, Coleman, Morris, and Benoit teams. I want billy king to look like isiah for the moves he made. I don't like deron but after his second game against Lin I hate him. I don't care who owns the Knicks if they win
Maybe I am misreading your post but to imply that you want the crosstown rival to win a championship
Has no business here.
Ya, you misread it. All I meant was whatever it takes to get us the championship. If the Nets gets the championship first, and ruins Jimmy Dolan (trust me, if Nets win first, Jimmy Dolan will be scared to show his face in public, and maybe, JUST MAYBE, he will sell the team to a capable owner who will give us a chance to win). I don't want to encourage that, but Nets are now back in NYC territory. There will be a dispute which team is better. Right now, both look grim, especially now they didn't get Dwight. But I seriously doubt having Jimmy Dolan will ever get us a championship ring, not even to the finals. An owner doesn't have to be a genius, but you got to know how to manage your people, make them feel secured and wanted and at least on the same page with them with some knowledgeable insight on basketball. Ok, some owners don't have that, but at least they are damn good with business and make the right trade, pay the right prices, give the team maneuvers/space, and most importantly, don't let the commissioner publicly degrading your intelligence.
I always thought okay, maybe Jimmy Dolan has no clue on basketball or ice hockey, and maybe he's just a businessman who just wants to focus on making money from owning the team. That's fine with me because eventually, the owner with good business sense will realize, having championship will guarantee you that, so there's incentives. After watching him paying H20 to a ridiculous salary, making out with Isiah Thomas who had NO GOOD TRACK RECORD as a GM, abusing Spree, dissing the Knicks legendary Patrick Ewing with a stupid trade and a future 'I will just ignore you completely' attitude, paying more mediocre players with huge salary contracts, made the breaking record as an owner of spending the MOST salary on players in a year and not even make the playoffs, and the list goes on and on and on. As a fan for almost 40 years, I started to feel betrayed, as if Jimmy Dolan never intended to win. He just wants to play with his toy given by his father by mistake. Then he hired Donnie Walsh, and I praised Donnie because he was almost a genius in re-organizing a team with his track record. I finally started to believe maybe I was wrong, maybe Jimmy learned from his mistakes. Then he flew to Denver and screwed up EVERYTHING Donnie Walsh had built. My nose was bleeding that night when I heard the flash news. Donnie Walsh quit, he just quit, but Jimmy Dolan doesn't want to lose face publicly so he kept the poor old man on payroll without any power to influence the team anymore just a little longer and then fired him (Walsh said he quit, but guess what, it's all a publicity stunt sponsored by Jimmy's money given by his dad Charles Dolan). Yes you can argue the trade was not as bad. Guess what my argument is.. he spent MORE money, for more AGING players, and we got NOWHERE near finals, not even pass 1st round. That's my argument. Then there's the Jeremy thing. Forget about the possibility he might be a superstar or a dud, just him bringing sensation to this dying team since Jimmy took over and the incredible popularity/linsanity now that Yao retired, is just TOO MUCH MONEY not to keep. Jimmy Dolan doesn't even want that and let a golden goose go away for nothing? NOTHING. REALLY??? That's sheer business ignorance and stupidity!
So now, after 12-13 years of Jimmy Dolan proven to the world he's ignorant, closet-case retard, a donkey brain on basketball, an assface on public speech, AND business/money sense like Octomom, why would anyone cheer him or believe in him or even have the slightest hope he would do the right thing and let another good GM do the job building the team? Why? Is there even an argument there? If you're so hopeful as to he will change, then you are one of the following:
1. You're hired directly or indirectly by Jimmy Dolan or his organizations (MSG, etc)
2. You have the same sense as Jimmy Dolan except not having a rich dad
3. You are just plain ignorant (remember those kids that hold their ears and yell "na na na na na I can't hear you! I can't hear you!"? Well, yeah, that's you)
4. Your dad and mom are not really what they seem to be. Maybe they have the same father?
5. You're under 18 and don't know better, see #3
6. You are a victim of a wifebeater and you are in denial.
7. You just like to say you're more of a Knicks fan than I am, because you believe blindly. See #2
8. You just like to argue with someone that is telling you an ugly truth. Yes, sometimes truth hurts, but better hurts now than another 10 years and jump onto another bandwagon
I might sound like I'm dissing some people here. No, I'd like a solid argument/debate, but really there isn't any, is there? The 12-13 years of track record speaks for itself. If you STILL don't believe what I'm saying or doing, please refer back to every comment Phil Jackson, a long-time Knicks player that brought the last championship to the Knicks, a hall-of-famer basketball coach with 11 championships under his belt with different teams, said about the Knicks after Jimmy Dolan took over. Read between the lines. If you STILL don't get it, then ask yourself why Phil never bothered to be a Knicks coach, especially when the whole media asked him all these years? It doesn't take a genius to realize there is no hope with Jimmy Dolan owning the Knicks, just common basketball or business sense. Phil knew that very well.
So now you might understand me, and maybe even agree with me, but you question me this, "So what now for our Knicks? for our loyalty? I don't want to be lost and don't want to betray the only team I followed all these years to be a filthy slut/traitor in other Knicks fans eyes." Well you don't have to. We just all have to come to conclusion that Jimmy is a deadbeat fag dad (sorry to all my homosexual friends. I only use that word to describe idiots stuck in closet that screwed me over, not literally. I lived with one without knowing for a year before, so I know), and that the only way is for Jimmy to give up the team. We promote this to other Knicks fans, especially the ones with season tickets to STOP SUPPORTING THE KNICKS FINANCIALLY. Don't subscribe to msg network. Don't subscribe the Knicks games. Don't buy Knicks jerseys or other accessories. If you want to watch Knicks games like I do, go to the bars to watch. They subscribe everything so there's no way to track down what really gives them better business, and therefore less commercial revenues for the Knicks. It's rough, I know, but I've been doing this for 11-12 years. I almost had to break my method when Jeremy Lin became a Knicks just because the jersey would be sooo much cheaper without having to customize with my own last name. I'm kinda glad I don't have to now. There are quite a few of us out there doing this.. it's miserable as hell but I really really really REALLY want to see my Knicks win once before I die, since I believe in that since 4 years old. I took all the laughter and sympathies from friends and families, and it didn't matter before Jimmy Dolan took over because at least we got close.. but now it's impossible for me to see any glimpse of light, and this is what I resorted to, watching Knicks in bars quietly, and getting on Knicks forums to encourage everyone to do the same. One last thing. Jimmy Dolan is NOT the Knicks. He owns the Knicks, but so did so many others before him. The Knicks CAN be sold to another person with the means for it, and Jimmy Dolan WILL sell the team once he realized he's not making enough revenue on it.
I don't want us to become the next Curse of the Bambino.
