I don't understand all the kvetching. Yes, the board is different. Many posters I used to love reading don't come around here anymore. We may be beyond the point where the board will have 554 visitors finding out about the Zach Randolph trade. Facebook and site comment threads have taken a lot of that load, I reckon.

But I do for the most part dig what posters like Bonn, Nalod, misterearl's idiosyncratic Q-and-A posting style, EnySpree, crzymdups, Frenchy, akrud's phonetic spelling, etc... even jrod's hyperbolic, dripping wet sarcasm, even when he doesn't include emoticons for us touchy-feeling pablum puking hypersensitive liberal types.

It's the bloody offseason, folks! Last offseason it was me and jrod debating Occupy Wall Street. Who wants to read that crap? But y'all indulged us, and actually the discussion was interesting to me! Usually we'd be deep into the second round of an Alba draft, but without TMS, that would feel a bit hollow.

So folks want to talk Lin and Nets. I don't see the big deal, if it's just a reminder to use the Off-Topic forum or "OT" your post. People post in the Knicks forum because it's the forum people always check. The OT board's last post is an update to jrod's Follow Gallinari's Career Thread from July, for God's sake.

I wouldn't want the boards to be 100% blind praise, but there is a difference between being critical and being a hater. A lot of posters are happy that we're going back to proper Knicks basketball, the Lin and Nets obsessions will die down if we start the season well- though even now the Lin obsession is less than the Gallo one.

I actually shouldn't have said that to you, and apologize. This is your only complaint thread and I can accept an occasional one. It's more like guys like JRod and Info who are moderator wannabes who my statement was directed towards.

Excuse me, Bonnie? Let's get one thing straight, I'm a moderator suck-up, not a moderator wannabe. (right, martin?) I couldn't program my way out of the wet paper bag you're constantly hyperventilating into.

And I was trying by the way, by posting in here, the idea that I thought the whole genesis of the Nyets subforum was sarcasm, not me whining about leaving. I'm trying to keep the centrists here.

And I'm not leaving either. I'm the only thing between you, Gallo, Moz and GKarl turning this into a Denver love fest forum.

I understand Melo is the face of the franchise and he deserves crtiticism for the product as a whole if it's a bust. And I too agree that letting Lin walk was foolish no matter how it's spun. But the fact is that we have a very good looking roster. Aside from LAL and Miami we may have the best roster in the league.

But our history over the last decade and our ownership overshadows EVERYTHING and it leads to regurgitating the Lin scenario, arguments about Melo being a selfish diva, etc. Again, my opinion is that almost everyone here LOVES the Knicks...maybe even Bonn whose opinions and statistical based analysis I have my issues with. And that passion and love for the team goes both ways. It leads to blind optimism and pessimism. Not enough intelligent, logical and reasonable discusison. But I still believe everyone here desperately wants the Knicks to win a title.

Then again, it's a message board. This gives people an outlet to be idiots sometimes.
