would you sign up for a 6-11 260lbs big man who once averaged 16ppg and 8 rebs?...

ANDRAY BLATCHE

i remember when he came out of HS and i thought he would regret not going to college...then he slowly became a consistent player who ALWAYS gave the knicks fits...hes basically a 6-11 260 jumpshooting big man...yes questions have come about his effort and drive...but he played for the wiz and didnt have much guidance...hes look for the vet mini and he knows he needs to prove himself...i think hes a good gamble at 25 yrs old

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I don't think Blatche would have any interest in NY. Yes, he's probably willing to take the vet. min. for one year since he's still getting paid, but he wants to put himself in a position to cash in to a new contract the following year. Here, he's already got Tyson, Camby, and Amar'e in front of him at the 4/5 (not including any time Melo spends at the 4 after how successful he was there closing out the year). Sounds like both Miami and San Antonio were expressing interest, both places where he may have the chance to start.

it took me a while to find some videos...a lot of the press he gets is negative since hes was being lazy (even he admits that)...i think in the right environment hed be a steal...hes an jumpshooting offensive minded big man who could take some pressure off of STAT with the 2nd unit

what does everyone else think?

Of course you take him but the bigger question (and answer) is would he be interested in us? NO. He wants to start or get a lot of minutes. He probably could play a lot of minutes for Miami, but not here imo. He wants to cash in I think (with Miami or San Antonio he can also get minutes and win)...

No thank you

Blatche has not matured as a person or basketball player.

Wizards fans in Washington DC could not be rid of him fast enough.

Knicks need depth. I dont trust Amare to stay healthy for a full season and we have no real PF backup.

Blatche > Martin or Andersen when it comes to scoring.

Kurt Thomas and Camby would be good for a 25 yr old Blatche.

When teams like Miami (2 championships) and Sa(4 championships) are the main teams chasing----then why would that dissuade the Knicks--?

The still young Andre Blatche was the starting PF on a young team with a lot of potential but he did not have enough character or common sense to keep his job. He is the guy that would be the jealous, locker room cancer at the end of the bench. Destroying the chemistry that this team sorely needs. He is no champion. I would rather Brian Cardinal.

Miami has already won, maybe they feel they can handle any issues he might cause. I don't think we can be so confident.

SAS, well, Pop can make Steven Jackson look like a saint. Perhaps he can do the same with Andre. That is another team already of championship pedigree that can afford to take the chance on Andre. Im sure Tim Duncan could babysit for a season.

Finally, see below...

Haha I can't believe Blatche had the nerve to ask Yi Jianlian if he can let him get the rebound to get the triple double in that video. Yi was so awesome for shaking his head no.

Thanks, but no thanks on this bonehead.

Andray Blatche is a young player with talent. He might be a bit of a knucklehead but it isn't like we'd be building the team around him. And Washington has a history of giving up on talented big men too soon and having them blossom somewhere else: Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber, and Ben Wallace are all guys who fit that description.

I'm all for it. We can just waive him if he acts up. He has just as much of a chance in playing in NY than he does of getting time in Miami and San Antonio. Camby is older and we should rest him up as much as we can in preparation for the off season. Playing with professional like STAT and Kurt Thomas will benefit him as well.

My guess is this guy wants to get playing time as he is playing for his next contract. I'd say he be kind of buried on the bench.

Im not sure who is in need at his positon and can give him a shot. Ooops, bad choice of word.

Miami would be a good team as they need a back up to Bosh or he can compete to start.

IF you're gonna build around knuckleheads like JR Smith you might as well also sign Blatche

Guys like Mason and Childs were considered POS before they came to the Knicks. If you have what you feel is a mature championship caliber contender with strong willed guys---you would think its the perfect spot for a guy like Blatche---exactly why wouldnt we want a 6-11 260 guy who can get 16-8? or have the talent to get a triple double? Unless hes a serious drugie---at 25 its a no brainer

A lot of nice things were said about smith and his character during summer league coverage. He wants to be in ny and took less to come back. I think he has a big year under Woodson.

at that size, age and offensive ability id take a chance on him...its only for the vet mini...yeah he was immature but he was young and foolish...i think with the vets around the team and playing for a contract, hell be on his best behavior
