I would't be suprised if Melo might jump ship and play with a team like LeBron, Kobe. They called LeBron a chocker now a winner

LeBron played in Cleveland until he couldn't take anymore and went to South Beach. Melo has great talent and if he teamed up with the right players he will get his ring. Right now almost everyone wants to beat up on him. With New York picking a guy who played 25 games in a perfect storm. Lin didn't do it himself. He played with a bunch of guys who was as hungry as he was and if anyone thought that that would last forever they were dreaming. We better get the right players around Melo. How would you feel if someone comes in on your truf and plays well and then you are the blame for everything wrong with this team. Melo is a winner and if he leave because of all this mess I really don't believe a star player would really want to come to New York Maybe Brooklyn. Don't think that Melo and the rest of the USA team are not talking about maybe finding a way to play together? Look how well Melo is playing in England. He also trust and respect those guys.
So what I am saying is Jeremy Lin was fools gold and we will see this comming season. Melo is the real deal. No I didn't like the way he came to NY with the trade but it is what it is and Chris Paul is Comming to New York even if he plays for a dollar the first year. Then the next year Melo, Amear, Tyson will soon have to adjust thier salary if they want a ring.

I can see Melo retiring as a Knick. It's no secret that CP3 want to play for the Knicks. We have a solid squad this year but we're also set up to have a ton of cap space in 3 years. If we don't get it done in this 3 year window we can reload around Melo at that time.

First of all yes i agree lebron wanted out of cleveland but lets remmeber even when he was in cleveland lebron made thm an eastern powerhouse even though he was the only good player. Im willing to give melo a chance to prove that he has what it takes to lead a team to the title. he now has the coach/players/ and system he wants. as for chris paul i doubt he will come here unless felton has a bounce back year and we sign and trade for him but we would probably also have to include shumpert which i would never do

What's with all the Melo defense that is running rampant? All anyone who has been on his case has said is where are the results? If Melo had actually played great last year for more than a month of the regular season, NO ONE would be on his case! Need I remind everyone just how bad he was regardless of the excuses there may be with being out of shape and nagging minor injuries:

     MIN FGM-FGA	FG% 3PM-3PA	3P%	FTM-FTA FT%	REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
Jan 35.6 8.3-21.1 .393 1.4-4.4 .311 5.4-6.8 .789 6.7 4.6 0.4 1.3 2.4 3.4 23.3
Feb 31.5 6.1-15.4 .398 0.6-2.3 .278 3.6-4.4 .829 4.0 3.4 0.5 0.8 2.4 2.1 16.5
Mar 32.1 6.7-16.2 .415 0.9-3.3 .268 5.1-6.5 .782 6.3 3.0 0.5 1.3 3.0 2.3 19.4
Apr 36.9 11.3-22.8 .495 1.9-4.2 .460 5.4-6.7 .813 7.3 3.6 0.4 1.1 3.1 2.5 29.8

Sure last April was great but when you're the best player on the team and an All Star people will have high expectations. Fans are gonna want more than 1 playoff win, no matter what the rest of the team make up is. Is that fare? IDK. I do know that it's the way it always is here in NY. You don't come here not knowing that expectation are higher here and so is scrutiny. This is the media capital of the world!!!! You can't play like dog mess for most of the time you're here and not hear about it.

Look Im neutral when it comes to melo. I dont like melo haters but i also dont like melo defenders. As a knick Fan im rooting for melo to have teh best season of his career because that what we need in order to win. I dont think he should take all the blame since we have had many injuries and many changes over the last two years. However I understand peopel who say that melo has a lot to prove this year beacuse he certainly does. Its true that Melo has only gotten past the 1st round once but garnett also had a similar record until he became a Celtic so im confident melo can start to go deeper this season. Like i said i dont agree with melo haters but i also dont agree with people who praise him without pointing out flaws

Melo is a Star player. He can score the basketball. He can dominate offense and can play multiple positions.
He can defend and can rebound. He may even pass the ball once in a blue moon and can handle the ball but he hate it.
Melo want to finish, want to shine, want to take it easy, to be cool.
Will he be a leader, will he sacrifice his game, will he make other players better, will he concentrate on team and on winning?
Debates are over. We'll see it soon. The moment of truth is coming starting November.

i agree this year is a big year for him especially since lebron has finally won his ring. I'd say he at least had to bring us to the ECF for this year to be considered a good one

And if we don't get it done in year 8, we can retool around our 2020 first round draft pick, which we haven't yet traded. Yippie!

So if the Knicks lose to a better seed and a team that has more talent like the Heat, in the semi's, would you still consider the season to be a failure?

I don't know if I agree with all of this but I do think he will have a big year. Unlike his first two years in NY, the coaching style and the players management has brought in compliment Melo and his game. Coupled with a summer playing Olympic ball, I would expect Melo to have a great year. I also like the guys that have been brought in. The East is a tough conference. The Knicks have had horrible luck with guys getting injured in or before the playoffs. Hopefully this year that isn't the case. Also, the Knicks under Woodson didn't lose back to back games for the final 24 games of the season. If they can avoid having to overcome another horrible start maybe Woodson will be able to limit guys minutes some or even rest them towards the end of the season at times.

This will really be his first full season with the club.

When you earn 19mil a year, isn't EVERY year a BIG year?

I would say with all that is happened with the exception of Lin bolting the team is aligned to do some nice things this season.

Winning a 'Chip is our goal and the goal of 29 other teams. Only 1 can win it which makes it extremely elusive and difficult.

I don't get any championship hype except from a few homers on the UK.

My "acceptable" level for this team is for it to play up to its potential.

I don't mind getting beaten by a stronger team, but to "lose" is another thing.

And I won't really be able to make any projections until they play about 25 games.

Nah really haha. Listen you seem to think im bashing melo but actually i've been defedning him. However i do feel taht he does have a lot to prove since his playoff history is not good. I have said 1000 times that its not just melo but amare also need to have a good year as well as tyson and felton.

Where in my post do I mention Melo? I'm talking about the Knicks. We haven't won a chip since 73 (before I was born) and we've had some pretty good teams in between with no rings to show for it. I'm just saying, its very difficult to win it all. Every team starts the year with championship aspirations but in reality, only a select few (4-5 at the most) have a shot to win it next year. The stars have to align and everything has to break just right to have a legitimate shot. The stars did align for us in '94 when Jordan retired, unfortunately for us, the stars were in order for Houston to. And when it came down to it, Hakeem was just a flat-out better player than our best player.

I agree with irish...i find amazing that no one mentions how amare isnt playing welll...hes just as overpaid as melo to
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better
I would't be suprised if Melo might jump ship and play with a team like LeBron, Kobe. They called LeBron a chocker now a winner
