2 years!
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I think he would be gone 2 if they could get equal value. I hope Demarcus Cousins has a mental break down or trys to force his way out of Sacramento when we have cap room in 2014

Cousins? Please.....I don't know anybody that has the balls to standup against the fan pressure of the NYK.

These fans will love you 1 day, and rip you apart the next, with the media also applying even more pressure.

Then you add in the owner, who will trade you in a heart beat. Cousins doesn't have the type of character that will survive in NY. Not until he matures after he reaches his prime.

I've been a knick fan forever, and it's a shame to watch young talented players come and go. I believe this current team actually has NYK type players needed to win it all. And when you are 35 and up in age, usually you have the thick skin thats needed to survive this kind of pressure.

For example, if Kidd was young in his career...That arrest for DUI would've destroyed him. But as you will see, he will be the same player we expected, once the season begins.

Until we win a championship, the pressure will only get worst. Young talent will not survive here. It's going to be up to the vets to end this curse. Dolan will continue to add and drop 35+ yr old vets until this 39 yr old streak is broken.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I love constant turnover. If we are not going to win, this is the most entertaining. If I was a GM, I would change/trade players every few games solely due to boredom.

I don't think I can get a GM job.

What Goes Around Comes Around

mrKnicksShot - fortunately, we have so much turnover that no matter who we deal for, they will have previously been Knicks, or played with someone who was a Knick. The great research by smacekeddog - illustrates this point well:

What I also like about this team is that a lot of the players have already played with each other in the past. Melo, Camby and JR were together in Denver; Camby, Kurt and Felton played in Portland; Amar'e has played with Kurt in Phoenix and with Felton year (before the Gallo trade). And Felton played with JR in Denver.

At this rate, The Answer Man expects both Gallinari (Little Italy homesickness) and Lin (after his Toney Douglas-like flameout in Houston) back in The Garden by 2016.

Gellin' like a felon.

I think people will be happy when they realize the chemistry that Felton will bring to this team as oppose to a circus atmosphere that the players detest

ChuckBuck - you probably have been around enough elite competitors to know there is a huge difference between what guys say in interviews and what they feel in their ego-driven hearts. Raymond Felton was fully prepared to compete for starters minutes now matter who was on the roster and stated as much yesterday. In the same vein, what Stephon Marbury felt in his heart of hearts that he was the best NBA point guard, is the same thing Felton reinforced and adding by saying, "I have to feel that way."

These guys take things very personally.

Ergo, Linsanity was lightning in a bottle. The planets in perfect alignment. Or, as Dr John might have amended, "I was in the right place at the right time."

25 games. Cool. Now do it for an 82 game season plus playoffs, if you are lucky to make it as far.

Reality check.

Do what for 82 games? No one would expect Linsanity for 82 games, but he had started to learn to hold back until the end of the half and the 4th qtr to take over and it was very effective in helping us win games. It's not like the kid has no chance to learn how to pace himself and how to be more efficient. I think if you have an uptempo game that allows Lin to use all of his talents, he's gonna be successful.

AMARE STOUDEMIRE 'Speaks ' ..Last week July 2012

DJ will cut Amare some slack in coming to NY, recall ? ' Knicks are back ! ! ! ' Stout resounding comments made all Knicks fans proud & feel we're wanted by a star of Amare's stature.
However otherwise time for his Monsignor' Amare talks a great game a great guy off court and most of time good teammate on the court

However Amare took few zings and Melo when he had right 100% to say "We gotta see what Miami did" make sacrifies all and play team game to get it done.
Maybe with poor Carmelo season, Mr Anthony had it coming to him. I'll support Melo and give him another 1-2 yrs without throwing him under the bus, not just yet.

Fine, I am glad Stout said it.

However its time for his lame be-hind to show up when Knicks need him most cause when NY needs to go to next level, BIG game, big spot a playoff or critical points for Melo to get help
Not zig-zag trick dunks injuring himself in pre-practices in 2011 prior to huge 2011 NBA Boston Celtics playoff series. * Ya'll dont recall that eh ?
Not this season Fire-extinguisher bash broken arm fiasco during Stoudermire's anger about Knicks play.

Mr. Amare Stoudemire has come up mighty mighty small many times even before Melo-drama era and while MDA was the Knick coach.
Sure Amare in pre MELO arrival had the 1st quarter 2010/2011 huge 'MVP' Chants season in play all-around. Sure he gutted out few times bad back bad luck in health woes which limit him.

All in all Amare can shoot from lip all he desires, For all he does and he's one of leaders but unless his output on court matches his assessment on what it takes to
compete & take it to Miami Heat, Stoudemire will need to show up even more sooner than Carmelo Anthony.

As a Knick in even 1 bad season (2012)Melo had here Carmelo showed up in series sweep loss to Boston in 1st NBA playoff appearance and gutted
it out. Melo still has lots to prove but I aint worried about him !

Amare has yet to make a Knickerbocker impact in his huge role as 'Other guy' or #2.

Stout gotta match his mouth.

Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford, etc. were Knicks for 5 years. Stability isn't always a good thing.

This is correct. They constructed this team specifically to have some good chemistry and make a good run for the next 3 years. They will figure out life after that when it approaches. I think for the next 3 years we don't see any major core changes, just tweeks along the way. Stoudemire could be the only one who shifts in the next 2 years. Melo, Chandler, and Shumpert are staying put without a doubt, and likely Felton as well unless Paul comes up somehow some way.
