It wouold have to be a sign and trade, how in the world you do that without matching his salary..Even if the rockets are under the cap, you still have to take back 75% worth his contract in salary..what would be the point..

why would a real knicks fan want to get something back in a trade for Lin? real knicks fans give away franchise point guards and laugh all the way to the bank. orange and blue, baby.

Having a possible trade chip for Paul wouldn't hurt.

he could have been traded after Jan 15 2013, I believe, for anything - including a pile of cup cakes.

I believe we may have needed his permission, but really- what is he going to say. If he said no, we could have sat him on the bench...

My bad, we couldn't trade him to ourselves for Raymond Felton.

Berger said no gm trades for that contract. Coon suggested using the stretch provision and waiving Lin in yr 3. I guess if you moved enough young talent and picks you might be able to move him.

You mean no GM in the league with cap room in year three is going to take Lin if he is putting up 18 & 8 numbers? Where all they have to send us is a $5M ending salary and 2 first round draft picks?

I'm sorry, but I find that hard to believe.

Toronto has a huge Asian population- they would take him

Its $14m in year three, not $20M+ like Melo and Stat.

If one figures that Houston REALLY wants Lin, then you match the offer. Then offer him to the Rockets for Martin or a draft pick.

I wonder if before there were any sheets signed If anyone came to the knicks and offered something for them not 2 match. Did Toronto call and offer the 1st rounder the Rockets got. Just curious

I have a hard time believing he would put up 18-8 on this Knick team. He put up gaudy numbers without Melo and Amare if they are healthy and on the court dont think he would of reached that here.I could see 14 and 7 something like that. He will get those numbers in Houston though.Maybe more points even

i'm not so sure, othe then melo amare and JR, do we have any bonifide scorers..If MDA is here i see this roster avg (with lin) 110 ppg..with woodson maybe 102ppg..

I think Lin will be back once he becomes a FA..and I think woodson will be gone..

Amare is a scorer. I think he bounces back this season and averages 20 ppg easy. He was out of shape last year ,then he got hurt , then his brother died, then he got hurt again. I expect his 17 footer to be back on point this season. If its not this team is in serious trouble
