In 1997, Nash was 23 and lightly regarded by his team the Suns . . .

Avg 9.1 ppg, 3.4 apg. In the playoffs that year, his numbers declined to 5.5 and 1.8. So lightly regarded was this young PG from a minor college that he was sent in 1998 to the Dallas Mavericks with little fanfare.

It wasn't until later that the Suns had to offer over 60 million to get Nash back. And it was a huge bargain.

One thing that is indisputable. Lin is way ahead of Nash at this stage of his career. If Lin ends up a flop in Houston, I'll leave the board here. I hope those that advocated f(and I named you guys in another thread) what happened as a "good move" or implied that it wasn't a big loss, I would suggest you consider doing the same if Lin ends up becoming another Nash.

I have a traffic court appearance to make tonight, I wonder if Jeremy Lin not being matched is valid reason not to show.

Lindepression LoL.

Knicks have a bunch of expiring contracts when his contract expires so they would have cap space. Maybe his career path will mirror Nash's and he will come back as a high paid free agent.

if lin somehow ends up as an allstar this year.. I say the NBA should just contract the knicks and start this franchise all over again.....

If Lin ends up an allstar this year, it won't be because of his play. It'll be because of the Chinese vote.

Just need to ban Dolan for 2 years, like MLB did with Steinbrenner.

Can you imagine that just 18 months ago, this team had only a couple players over30 and now they have a couple over 40 and only a couple under 30. Did I mention no cap room again!!

Is this a better team then that one? Yes. Can this team win the Championship? No.

If he is averaging 20/9, will that justify the Chinese vote?

Do you honestly think he'll have better numbers than CP3 and Russell Westbrook out west?

Is that what I said? I don't think he is better than either one of them. You can even add a few more to that.

What I was saying, is that you are right, he will get the Chinese vote and quite possibly be voted as a starter. If he is averaging at least 20/9, does it at least justify it a bit?

If he is at 13/7 and is a starter than I would say No obviously but at 20/9 you can't say he shouldn't at least be in the discussion, right?

20/9 is what CP3 averaged last year. Do you think he will average that? I sure don't.

I think playing 38mpg, he can average 20 points for sure. The assists may not be that high.

Don't forget at this time, he is their 2nd option on offense if Kevin MArtin is back.

He was getting 14 with Melo back in the line up and taking all the shots.

With the ball in his hands, I can see him scoring alot, but not sure about averaging 20 pts/game. You don't think he'll break down playing 38mpg? He sure did after MDA rode him like secretariat.

So it's lame, because it's true? Didn't Mike D'Antoni say he was going to ride Lin like Secretariat? Wierd. Anyways, he couldn't handle heavy minutes and tore his meniscus, 38 minutes per is asking alot, no?

its lame because you regurgitate stuff some all over the internet over and over and over again. Not interesting and lame. Expected from a battered fan, you dont know better. Just because you love the KNicks doesnt mean you have to love the Knicks. Maybe nobody told you that.

So you are worried about Lin breaking down? What about a 39 year old Kidd and an overweight Felton?

The thread is a bout what he can become. Obviously injuries could limit that.

I choose to love them. I'm not a fairweather fan. If they start losing a ton, I will boo like everyone else, but I will never threaten to leave like some of these other so called fans over 1 D league player.

Felton actually averages 80 games a year or so, and Kidd has been proven to be pretty durable over the years.

In 1997, Nash was 23 and lightly regarded by his team the Suns . . .
