So a few months ago, Jeremy the unknown guard is given a chance and he delivers in a spectacular fashion. Drains a buzzer-beating game winning jumper, puts up (for some stretches) HOF numbers for a player starting his first NBA games, puts up 38 against the Lakers, and the numbers are actually secondary -- is a genuine team player sacrificing and risking injury every night for his team. And the following comes now from so many here in the Knick Fandom:
*25 games is a small sample size . . . (never mind that Anthony Davis has a zero sample size, and no one questions his purported effectiveness). 25 games is a lot. Any NBA player who plays the 25 impressively is a legitimate player. Those that think 25 games is too small a sample size have a too small a member. Genius.
*Stephen A Smith . . . this dude is miraculous -- even a broken clock is right twice/day, but this dude is COMPLETELY on the other side of what is true 100% of the time. Even Rajon Rondo hits a jumper sometimes, and even Amare makes a defensive play sometimes, but this dude . . .
*there were several genius Knick fans that said something to the effect of "playoff basketball has more intensity. In the playoffs, you need ISO ball. Melo is the man come playoffs". Yeah genius.
*Those defending letting Lin go for nothing. Dudes like Anubis, ChuckBuck, nyk4ever . . . even if you hate Lin, if as you say you want the Knicks to do well, why wouldn't you want something for Lin (a player at least another team wants to pay major money). It's understandable that some long-time fans would contemplate leaving (even if it's just an emotional reaction -- it happens even in happily married people, between parent/child where either party will want to sever a relationship, etc.). If you guys were true fans (as you claim), you would not be so nonchalant about fellow fans. By the way, I've been a Knick fan than all three of you combined, and read Starks book (which of you guys honestly have?). Geniuses.
*when it's pointed out that the Knicks signed dumb contracts with guys like Marbury and Curry, it is not meant that Lin is like them. Lin is a genuine asset, and now is the time to be thinking about tightening the belt. When we actually should be spending money. It's like if you've been getting yours from prostitutes for a long time, then you meet a woman is truly loves you and wants both of you to have a committed relationship, and since all you've had is paid sex . . .
That's not even all but that's enough for now. So that adds up to (some) Knicks fans: The Geniusest.
