HOUSTON (AP) -- The New York Knicks are not planning to match Houston's offer for Jeremy Lin, according to a published report.

The New York Times, citing an unidentified source, says deliberations are over for the Knicks and they have elected not to equal the Rockets' three-year, $25 million offer sheet, signed by Lin last Friday. New York officially has until 11:59 EDT to decide whether to re-sign Lin, a restricted free agent, and The Times cautioned there is an ''incredibly small'' chance the decision could be reversed.

Team officials would not confirm that any decision was final. Lin's agent did not immediately respond to messages left by The Associated Press.

Lin catapulted to international stardom last February, when he joined the Knicks' lineup and averaged 21 points and 8.4 assists.

I heard someone say Lin would have helped Dolan market the team to the Asian community but at least Felton will help with the fat community.

We have far more fat people than Asians on the US, so I guess Dolan was using real logic.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

What about achy knee Lin taking us to the promises land and couldn't finish the season? Last season was an odd one. No real training camp, and it is funny how quick many of us forget how well Felton played for the Knicks. His number was a whole lot better than Lin's.

I thought Chandler the only person that was in real good physical shape last season. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens this coming season.
