By adding Felton are the Knicks setting up another starphuch in Jan? Tyson & Lin for Dwight. If anything to piss off the Nets? I hope not

I couldn't root for Dwight Howard, I just couldn't- after his actions the past year and his broken back, I just don't want him on this team.

Please, let it be over! Lakers need to get rid of Bynum, there's no way he's going to re-sign with them.

They're saying that they are trying to get him to commit to a long term extension and I'm sure the Magic are going to do the same thing with Bynum. I'm looking forward to it being over too.

Lakers making Dwight Howard push?

ESPN.com news services | July 17, 2012

The Los Angeles Lakers are making a renewed push to acquire All-Star center Dwight Howard and are meeting with Orlando Magic officials Tuesday, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Yahoo Sports! reports that the Lakers want a commitment from Howard that he will agree to a contract extension before they agree to a trade with the Magic.

The Lakers and Magic have been in talks over Howard for the last week or so, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard, but nothing is imminent.

Howard had demanded a trade to the Nets but talks broke down between the Nets and Orlando last week. Magic GM Rob Hennigan called Howard last week to see if he would consider giving the GM's new regime a chance, but Howard rebuffed the overtures.

Howard has said he would agree to sign an extension with only one team, and sources have said that team is the Nets.

The Houston Rockets also made a new proposal to the Magic for Howard last weekend and are willing to take on long-term salary commitments from Orlando if they land Howard in Houston.

Last week, sources told ESPN.com the Rockets and Lakers had discussed a multitude of trade scenarios with the Magic. In those talks, the Rockets were offering to serve both as the team that would acquire Howard in a direct trade between the clubs and also as a third team that would participate in a trade that lands Howard with the Lakers and brings All-Star center Andrew Bynum to Houston.

Sources have said that Hennigan might feel more comfortable taking back a package of youngsters, recent draftees and future first-round draft picks -- while shedding some long-term salary as well -- than taking on Bynum as Howard's replacement and facing a similar challenge in convincing him to commit to the franchise long-term like the Magic have dealt with for months with Howard.

Both Howard and Bynum are in the final seasons of their current contracts.

Orlando wants whatever team that takes Dwight, to take as many bad contracts with them as possible, while giving back flexibility/draft picks/ young players?

We have many 40 year old players to 3 year deals, overpaid fake "all stars" to mulitiyear deals, and no expiring contracts to offer.

So there really is no interest with us and that is why teams with much cap space are needed to facilitate the deals...

Damn.. I don't want to see the damned Lakers get Dwight. They have gotten enough players as it is, and I was looking forward to seeing them fail in that D12 chase liek the Nyets did.

There was a time, not long ago, when I was pulling for Houston to get Dwight. After this Jeremy Lin fiasco, to tell with the Rockets, too. I hope they don't get anyone significant to play there.

I don't know about trading for Dwight. He would only cause more of the same drama that he's causing now, the first time his primadonna azz doesn't get his spoiled way. Ty Chandler doesn't give us any problems at all, and if flourishing on the Knicks.

I'd like to hear more about ATL going for Dwight. Maybe a "homecoming" of sorts would be good for him, and he can be with his buddy Josh Smith.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The Lakers are the Yankees of the NBA - they generally can get whoever they want whenever they want. They pretty much snuck in and snatched up Nash.
