This work or play for peanuts crap' Miami Heat has mastered & got P.H.D in NBA has to stop somewhere
I aint smartest guy but seems to me there should be a revamped $salary rule call it Opposite' of NBA Luxury/Tax ramifications that weighs penalizing teams
like Mickey Arrison's & Pat Riley Miami Heat 'No pay for Play' concepts accepting lowest costs to compete or play with elite winners on a Team.
As P.Riley states "I'm not done yet!". Riley he'll get R.Westbrook in a few seasons once contract runs out in Oklahoma City. Mark my words
In no other sport like David Sterns NBA past few yrs, Teams like Miami Heat get around the taxes or minimizes Luxury tax costs by promising the chance of winning
a championship and getting premier players to accept peanuts or pumpkin seeds pay to join their way of thinking & organization.
That’s how they best got around the luxury tax even if HEAT got some taxes to pay it's not nearly as bad as many other pro NBA teams.
You may call this smartest ownership I'll give Heat mgmt. 1/4 credit but DJ calls rest of this NBA highway robbery. 4 probably future Hall of famers in Miami.
Purpose of Luxury tax is surcharges put on aggregate payroll of a team to the extent to which it exceeds a predetermined guideline level set by the league,
For prime purpose of this "tax" is to prevent teams in major markets with high incomes from signing almost all of NBAs more talented players & hence destroying the NBA competitive balance necessary for a sport to best maintain fans interest today.
If you are not Lebron or Kobe, Dwight, Rose, Durant, Melo or Deron where you make your money on the side as a player there need to have stricter $$ ranges on what
you SHOULD accept Or Can, thus you shouldn’t accept smallest salary min., then you are getting robbed by league even if you Ok'ed it as in case Ray Allen.
Celtics should have at least something back, exchanged whether future low pick if player caliber of Ray Allen was getting vet. $minimum pays afforded.
Thus Celtics losses out, If Ray Allen was being paid somewhat over > $3mil minimum then No compensations to Boston.
I dont get these rules, when Lebron James fairly left Cleveland to $sign for < less, But I understood Cleveland received some picks/compensation does anyone
know why Cleveland got this ? That is my point. Knicks will Lose Jeremy Lin and NO WAY I'll ever compare Lin yet with superstar best player LBJ, but Knicks
cannot get anything back, cant do a sign & trade, cant match without spending near $60 mil to do so for J.Lin not a star. Thus Knickerbocker are STIFELED.
NBA rules/tax say we gotta pay highest $prices for that set by Houston Rockets offer sheet + J.Lin & Agent.
This is all messed up eh isnt it ?
We already have 3 high priced players under $contract Amare, Melo & Tyson. Don't blame any of them either these $structures were setup already & Known what was ahead
with only 2 of the Knicks 3 legit stars barely.
In our normal jobs if you're making too much $$$ your employer either reduces you % OR you're sadly laid off due to their structure & inability to Pay and keep everyone.
It may be fine for Battier's, M.Camby, C.Boozer or J.Kidd to accept a certain salary after awhile on some fair scale percantage %.
Not sure that applies to what Miami is does & it still combats a bit this 'Luxury tax'. Whom I to say a player should not want to win? Despite pay reduction.
However we'll never know what some teams like Miami really do under the table in terms of costs $ and deferring setup pay schemes, sure there a ways around it even
if HEAT are over the cap. Same goes for the rebuilding O.J. Mayo no worse than Jeremy Lin and more experienced & proven but Dallas signed Mayo doesnt have issue Lin
created.
At least when you see a Melo or Amare, Steve Nash, Bynum on their teams despite those teams salary structures reporting you feel the worth $ is straight-forward
regardless if some experts think Nash is paid correctly but Melo or Amare or Bynum is overpaid, Kobe is correctly paid. Nothing hidden. With Miami players its
entirely a whole different story on how pays assessed.
When you know what players are making fairly even with pay raise OR cuts INSTEAD of grossly underpaid$ to help organizations Like Miami Heat beat the present system.
Which is fine with NBA chief culprit David Sterns the 'Anti Knick'. Sterns is WORSE than Dolan. Least Dolan wants to spend $$ sometimes.
In case of Knicks and J.Lin for a sneak-contract Offer sheet revisions of $25 mil to cost the Knicks $58.3 mil in year 2014-2015 to keep their own playa Jeremy Lin,
but sametime HEAT avoids or reduces LUX Tax payouts in getting high salaried R.Allen to accept little as possible or years prior to get FA moving Chris Bosh to leave
Toronto but instead of getting $$Payout raise a star merits take % less to play for a Ballclub being built with Dwayne Wade and Lebron James somethings here just
don't add up to me at all.
Furthermore whatever minimums alloted helps Miami here & there Battier a nice proven player, as Rashard Lewis with $stats though both late in their careers, if they
both aren't even at league vet. $3mil isn't something wrong with that entire scenario ? ? ? for a pro sports organization.
You'd think ever the NY Knickerbockers with a different smarter owner than our current with get away with beating these rules ? during Bernie King era ?
during Patrick Ewing's tenure here ? NO WAY. Knicks historically are one of NBAs most penalized teams ever. (see George McGinnis case 76ers vs NYK)
Knicks are most watched & monitored by the league & since big market the Luxury Tax is likely born before to help KNICKs not get as good ever, oppositely as teams like
Miami Heat whom can in less than 5 short season years get First rounders #1 pick (Lebron James) , another #4 pick (Chris Bosh) and finally a future snake Hall of
famer #5 Pick (Dwayne Wade) all together easier than any small OR big market team will do while we're all living on earth as Knick fans.
Poor Knicks, going to lose the skilled developing Jeremy Lin and actuality we've really never ever had a chance to fairly keep him in the first place ! ! !
