I would expect they would want to make a media deal out of keeping him- just to help spike jersey sales & other such things.

The "James Dolan" thread actually has the leaked video of "The Decision" check it out. If you play it backwards Dolan clearly says they're bringing Lin back no matter what.

It's funny LeBron was a decision that the Knicks didn't control and this feels like a decision that they control and will make the wrong one. You can't make this up with the Knicks.
