check out https://twitter.com/rodboone timeline

seems to have changed his tone, explained his "ridiculous" comment and seemed to think both Lin and Dolan want this to work out.. but they have to "work it out"

we'll see... trying to find some hope in these comments.... Does he know something? Or is he just trying to take the target off his own back

crzymdups wrote:Melo, a little redemption perhaps? Asked tonight about his comments:

1. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Melo was asked after tonight's game about his characterization of Lin's contract as being "ridiculous." Here's his answer in next tweet.

2. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Melo: "It was ridiculous for them to do what they did, as far as throwing that out there and making it tougher on us to sign him back."

3. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Why do people think Melo doesn't like Lin? "I don’t know. I can't worry about that. Ask Lin he’ll tell you what a good relationship we have"

4. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
More Melo on ‪#Lin‬: "With Jeremy, I know he definitely wants to be back in New York & Dolan definitely wants him back."

5. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Melo: "It's just a matter of them figuring it out at this point."

6. Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Was Melo surprised by the reaction to his comments? "I always get backlash. It's nothing new. It is what it is."

I see no reason why Melo should not become the new MSG spokesperson.

then again, this is also valid:

Jared Dubin ‏@JADubin5
I'd believe Melo except he also said he didn't have anything to do with D'Antoni "resigning," that he didn't request a trade from DEN... etc

I was just thinking about that - And how he said that he had no idea that there was an issue with him and MDA

Why does anyone put stock into what he says anyway?

i feel bad for melo. one thing is for sure - no matter what he says it will be dissected to the very marrow. this is why athletes speak in truisms and cliches. the media (and fans) are relentless. especially in the twitter/social media/24-hour news cycle world.

This Lin thing is turning into a Dwight Howard circus. If Knicks know they aren't going to match the offer, why are they sitting around until midnight tomorrow? I want Lin to remain as a Knicks. What is he going to accomplish out there in Houston? absolutely nothing. If he goes out there, there's a fat chance in hell the rockets make the playoff for the next 3 year. Being a great point guard on an average to below team isn't going to players happy. Look at Chris Paul. He was on the Hornets and he knows he's not going to win there so he bailed out.

With Knicks, Lin at least have a chance to make the playoff and optimistically speaking, make a run for the finals.\

Is there anyone for Lin to just accept the offer matched and then settle for a slightly lower salary (give or take 5 millions less) and remain a Knicks? \

Is this one of God's plan? Lin always give God credit so is it one of God's plan for him to sign with another team instead of with the team that he made his mark on?

All he has to do is shut the fudge up. But he is too stupid to know that. Yesterday he didn't know what the Knicks would do, today he knows Dolan wants Lin back. I am sure Dolan calls hime every hour on the hour with status reports on his latest thinking.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I think the Knicks are still genuinely undecided. I think they want him, are also angry about how it want down and are also looking at the cap angle. It gets really complicated in year 3.

I think they will match, but they gotta come up with a good plan for year 3, at least a hypothetical.

also, why not make Houston sweat a little? but i think it's mainly because they are genuinely undecided.

There was nothing wrong with his original comment. It was taken out of context. Hahn explained it during yesterday's game. I can't believe it became national news. I see why Ewing could be so surly with the media.

Actions speak louder than words. They signed Felton to 4 year 18 million dollar deal.

He also doesn't get to decide whether the Knicks match or not.
