![]() to allow a guy to go out and field offers to set their market is actually a very nice thing and usually smart thing to do. The last thing you want to do is chance low balling and upsetting a guy. So, you allow him to got and set a fair market price. I don't blame Dolan for this and it's not like its a rare thing.
Jeremy, at first had gotten a fair offer that set his price, but as reporter, he and his agent flew back to Denver, ARROGANTLY assured that Dolan would pony up for whatever he could get. That WAS the betrayal and I don't blame Dolan a bit if his says fuk off and enjoy mediocrity in Denver. You guys just love to hate, whether it's Dolan, Melo or your own selves. The hate, the over emotional man love for Lin, all of you Bro-mantic sissy's need to get laid by a real, flesh and blood female. the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

The last thing you want to do is chance low balling and upsetting a guy. Why is it one or the other (make an offer or let him explore the market)? Offer him the most you can and explain that that's all you can offer. Tell him that you're happy to let him explore other offers and you intend to match anything higher. It's really not that complicated. |

Lin flew back because he was called by the team about changes in the offer. Then he sign the new offer so Knicks can proceed with their decision. ![]() I don't blame Lin for trying to get the best deal he can. He made a ton of money for MSG last season, and he will continue to line Dolan's pockets should they sign him. And it's not a ridiculous contract. If you put Lin's potential contract next to the Knicks' three most expensive contracts, Lin's isn't the one we want to get rid of.

I don't blame Dolan for this and it's not like its a rare thing. no, but it took advantage. He was told that they would match, the original 4year deal reported. Lin afterwards (AFTERWARDS) flew back to Vegas and renegotiated the deal. That was the bad faith on his part. Also, you guys keep ignoring the most important part. This would be a total Isiah move, to kill all future flexibility and, the same guys clamoring for us to match will be bitching and moaning in year 3 about our inability to sign any free agents, even the aged Bibby kind. the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. ![]() I'm not truly mad at him for getting the most money he can but, lets not act like the Knicks were at fault here.

Knicks were in position to make a decent offer end of story. Then Lin will have all responsibility of selling himself high to other teams or just sign it (which he will probably did). ![]() Your picking parts of my post while ignoring the most pertinent part. I keep saying that we are already handcuffed in the 3rd year of that contract having to pay Amare, Melo and Tyson. Management will have to be very creative to keep adding the necessary pieces to compete. Added that crazy 15Mil he'd get will only make matters worse. You, me and everyone else will be bitching and moaning about our lack of flexibility.
but, then you'll probably ignore it again. We hated the bloated payroll and overpaid guys when IT was doing it but, it's magically ok now because its Lin. In Melo's words....ridiculous. the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between.
