I think we can all agree that Linsanity had some pretty good moments. But it also had some negative effects: Mainly the Linsane fanboys popping up all over this board. I'm not talking about all Lin fans. I'm not talking about all new posters.

I'm talking about a segment of people who all joined the board around a certain time of the year and have a blinding love for a certain player. Y'all need to chill. We saw this when Melo got signed too.

I love me some Jeremy Lin. How could we as Knicks fans not love a kid who put up 38 in a W against the Lake Show at the Garden when it's usually the Kobe poops all over the Knicks show while getting MVP chants in NY show. Sure Corey Maggette might be able to put up 38 against the Lakers playing with the likes of Jared Jefferies and Bill Walker but could he have gotten the W? As a rookie?

However Lin lovers: When y'all act like we're letting Chris Paul walk people start to focus on how crazy y'all are instead of the what's important: James Dolan being a complete douchebag and having no redeeming qualities other than being willing to spend absurd amounts of $ as long as no1 takes his toys or kick sand in his face in the sandbox.

You see Knicks fans are irrational to begin with, especially the ones on this board. We spend absurd amounts of time reading/writing/arguing/pissing/moaning about a team that didn't make the playoffs for a straight decade

with the highest payroll in the league.

We care so much about the team we bitch about our draft pick in the 40s. To still be a Knicks fan after the Patrick Ewing trade you just have to be crazy.

It doesn't help when you take an already crazy group of people and go all Linsane on this board.

Unfortunately we didn't draft Lin so we don't get 3 years to figure out whether he's the 2nd coming of Larry Bird/Magic Johnson/Sun Tzu all in one or whether he'll end up being as good as say, I dunno, DJ Augustin???

Fact is signing Lin would not have killed our cap flexibility. Anyone who cares to disagree I will gladly email you a few article that explain it. I will link to them in this thread. This should not even be a topic of discussion. I'm serious. If you disagree call me out and we can have a nice calm chat. You'll be able to understand me because I don't have Lin's testicles in my mouth.

Lin Lovers: saying things like Melo is a fat nobody we should ship him out because he didn't go on a hunger strike for Lin doens't add anything to the discussion. It makes you look crazy and then disqualifies everything else that comes out of your mouth. Then when rational super awesome posters like me say anything about Lin it makes me look crazy too. And obviously I can't be crazy even though instead of going to the f-in gym and getting on with my day I'm writing this crazy rant before brushing my teeth because the first thing I did when I woke up is check my phone to see the UK Forum.

Also James Dolan is an petulant idiot. This is not about the $ or basketball. It's about Jimmy being upset because Jewemy WIED to him! He WIED dad! He WIED TO ME!

Short version: Some people on this board are here strictly as Lin fans, not Knicks fans. Please separate these from Knicks fans who just see that bringing Lin back makes sense in terms of basketball and from salary cap management.
