Deals are made in principle like this all the time. This isnt the first contract that was agreed 2 by a backdoor handshake. What they did was definitly shady, within their rights but NOT THE KNICKS FAULT

I think it's the Knicks fault for not signing the deal the second Houston offered that 4 year deal.. I'm sure they were looking for other options and signed deal with Houston first, but I don't know.. they should've just bit the bullet and tell Lin okay, we'll sign that 4 year deal right now.. but I totally agree with you what Houston and Lin did was damn shady against the Knicks. Maybe Houston was desperate and wanted to make sure they get Lin and persuaded Lin to sign the better deal, or maybe Lin's agent was the one that forced Houston's hand.

You are confused. Noone signed the first deal. It was verbal. They can't natch a verbal agreement.
