I knew Melo was poisonous to the Knicks and now he's calling Lin's offer ridiculous. Seriously? Melo, just shut the **** up, man. You're not supposed to say anything but thanks to your two cents, you may as well strap Lin down on a gurney and push him out of the building.

This guy is a barrel of douche. He had the gall to say "Don't blame me if Lin don't return to the Knicks" after he made his statement. Lin is your teammate. Why the hell does it matter if an offer is ridiculous???? You're a teammate, not some financial specialist.

True colors are being shown and Lin knows it.

Lin isn't going to be a Knick next season because there are players on his team who are just too stupid to give a damn. I'm looking at you, Melo, you fat moron.

Did he really say the offer was ridiculous? Mr .470 is a dickhead if he did.

Come on Bonn, Mr.470(playoff I guess) was a dick head as soon the knicks traded for him.

While Dicks are coming out of peoples mouths.........wow how big is Jeremy Lins to hold some many grown men?

Playoffs and regular season. Both seasons matter after all. I'm harsh on Melo because I think there's strong evidence that his style of play doesn't help teams win. It at least looks like he's finally taking the off-season seriously. If he comes in in shape and has the best year of his career, I'll give him all the credit in the world. Right now, he's mister .470 though.

Blame Melo not the guy who backstabbed the Knicks by calling for a meeting to change the contract details. Your high if U think Lin wants to be in NY. He wants to increase his brand by being the man on his own team. He wont be the first option here. In Houston he can dominate the ball and get his 20 every night and make an All Star team. Sounds like another guy I know that keeps getting blasted

Fair enough. This thread doesn't have the exact quote.

Lin might not be a Knick because he backstabbed the Knicks.

You know, the more I think about this and more I hear.. doesn't sound like he was backstabbing the Knicks at all. Maybe it's just miscalculation. Maybe someone jumped the gun because Lin never signed anything before this, so if he never signed anything before this, where is the backstab? the 4 year deal was never official. Lin didn't sign it or touch it and the Knicks didn't offer him anything either. I mean it sux for us Knicks fan to hear this, but I really don't think Lin backstabbed or even tried to backstab the Knicks. Lin was being greedy and Dolan was being dumb and Morey was desperate, but then again, you might be right. He might felt hurt and decided to stick it to Jimmy.

Yeah, but does the other thread call Melo fat? That's always an important point to make.

Yep. In the other thread the context of the quote was explained by Hahn. Kee
P on hating Anthony if you want but he said nothing wrong here nor did he have malicious intent. This thread should be locked.

Deals are made in principle like this all the time. This isnt the first contract that was agreed 2 by a backdoor handshake. What they did was definitly shady, within their rights but NOT THE KNICKS FAULT

Nah, Melo's a cancer, he's malicious, he's politically incorrect. And he's fat. Now we know his mouth is fat too!
Can't wait for the "Hey Melo, Lin's making you look bad" thread...

I think it's the Knicks fault for not signing the deal the second Houston offered that 4 year deal.. I'm sure they were looking for other options and signed deal with Houston first, but I don't know.. they should've just bit the bullet and tell Lin okay, we'll sign that 4 year deal right now.. but I totally agree with you what Houston and Lin did was damn shady against the Knicks. Maybe Houston was desperate and wanted to make sure they get Lin and persuaded Lin to sign the better deal, or maybe Lin's agent was the one that forced Houston's hand.

The Knicks couldn't sign the reported first deal because it was never presented to them.

Oh yeah, that. I'm still confused as to exactly what happened and who's words I should trust. Knicks said they didn't get the deal papers and Rockets said they sent it already but couldn't find anyone? I don't know, something shady going on.

You are confused. Noone signed the first deal. It was verbal. They can't natch a verbal agreement.

Has to be physically delivered into the hands of Glen Grunwald in NY Office per league rules. The Knicks didn't receive the revised poison pill offer until Saturday night.

And that was also the ONLY matchable offer the Knicks received and were able to officially match.
