being down close to 30 during the bucks game, the knicks were able to capatlize on the bucks lack of offense for the period, i credit some decent Defense, however, it wasnt anything spectacular. The bucks just were overconfident too early and shot themsleves out of the game. What i saw and liked was how the comeback was lead by hustle plays led by kurt thomas,(whether it was the extra tip for rebound or extra stop), i think sweetney played really well and im really excited about our first round pick.

Most importanlty, I believe the comeback was lead by TEAM hustle and TEAM passing, i hope marbary saw how effectieve the team plays with ball movement sometimes instead of the play being always created by himself. Penny really played tremendous, hitting those 2 3pters like the veteran he is....
In no way am i putting marbary down, i like the final shots he took because he was open and there are sometimes someone must step up to emerge as the leader. But sometimes team play can motivate everyone on the team to do so much more...but hes just gonna learn when to be dominant and sometiems he just has to take it easy. one of the harder things of a true PG

Most importantly, I hope the knicks gained confidence in themselves and their team mates as well....we need a real big confidence booster to carry us to and during the playoffs because i honestly believe our talent VS Pacers or Detriot and the Western teams is truely superb to ours. But I believe we have to work our garden Magic and carry a strong momentum and confidence to overcome them, but its doable....

i never lossed confidence in my knicks even during the half of this team cause i blead orange and blue and over the past decade ive seen some crazy stuff including h20s winning game shot to LJs 4 pt play. So plz lets show our knick pride and stop the bashing our new york knicks. A little criticism can be good but lets stay on board and try to think of ways to improve the team, not bash the team till next season.....remember we are very much alive to make it to the playoffs and as witnesses we all know 8th seed alone can bring us many hopes and victories along the way....

good post.

The guys are still figuring out how to play together. Lenny is still figuring out rotations and player strong/weak points.

Nazr used to come off the bench in between Theo minutes - he still has to figure out how to consistently play with fire.

Marb has to know when to pass to Kurt (pick and roll) and when not to (in the post, fast break with Kurt too far out or in traffic). Marb also needs to have a better feel for when to settle for jumpers and when to drive. When to shoot, when to pass (although this balance seems to be OK).

I say the Knicks get rid of the Houston isolation play. It just sucks. Everyone watches while Houston only does his one move away from the basket, which is OK if he is on fire or shooting over a small opponent, but won't work in the long term. At the end of games it just doesn't work, and Houston will never get fouled.

Coaches need to tell TT to find the post position with some fire. Dude is lazily starting like 18 feet away from the basket instead of trying to establish position as close as possible.

Anderson and Penny should have their minutes limited. They are both very good in spots against certain opponents, but not for too long. Sweets is finally showing his worth (hussle).

I still give this team another month to figure things out.

I'm with you. Penny plays an important role because he can handle the ball which takes pressure off Marbury and allows Lenny to extend his minutes.

Marbury really showed GREAT leadership. He didnt try to take over.. he hit some huge shots but still trusted his teammates to win. When KT missed that layup I was afraid Steph was going to go into 'do it all myself' mode, but he didnt.

Lets kill the Wiz and get juiced for one of the more entertaining games of the year.. Kidd vs. Marbury.

There's only another month left in the season. They have to get it together way before that...like this week.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

great pts martin....

i also think tim thomas has to establish himself on the hustle and defensive end, just like spreewell when he game over....

our 3 has to help houston on the defensive end and hold his own
on top of dat
also...tim thomas has the size to be more effective on the boards and should try to help out as much....

great post becuase i was thinking the same thing. games like this are ones that make a team dangerous. after this, you might see a knick team with a swagger and confidence needed for this time of year. if they had lost that game, i would admit that the knicks would have been in a serious tailspin that they may not recover from. important win and they played like contenders for the east and not chumps in the east. while i was listening to part of the game on wfan, the commentators had a great point. they said that this time next year if the knicks had the same team ( which may be unlikely), they think that they will be on the top of the heap in the east. i was looking at them yesterday and their lineup and thought that they have a legit point. baker is a pleasant surprise save the foul trouble and we have SO much talented ( key word is talented) depth in the frontcourt.

They should gain a ton of momentum but how many times have we expected that before after a big win? I think they will and roll of a nice winnin streak at this point, yet I'v thougt this before. So who the heck knows? I say its to early to say anything. Let them play a few more games of good ball, then I'll be the first to say we are gogn to the finals lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
