For the most part, they seem like an informed group that is pasionate about their team much like us...but...while attacking a teams owner, gm or coach would be deemed fair play, attacking NY's fan base and specifically UK posters is something that i take a little personal

Let them have some fun. Once the season begins their lackluster team won't be providing them much entertainment.

To me, they sound like a bunch of mouth-breathing, snot licking hicks who get excited way too easily.

I take back what I said earlier. The Rockets fans have had their ups and downs, just like any other fan base. I'd probably react the same way if the Rockets were all I had and aside from the Astros and Texans.

At least they seem to understand the obvious. Grunwald should have offered Lin a contract staright up, he chose to go this route and Morey has called him on it. If he made an ofer first he could still match later if he wanted to, but his attitude suggested we don't think you'll get any real offers so let the market set your price. Well guess what? It just did.

As many have said, this will either get us a young all-star in the making at the point, or screw the Knicks long-term and preventing a new super-team from forming.

I think it's a smart move, taking the Knicks on their bluff.

Its a 3yr deal which coincides with the rest of the big contracts on the knicks. I'd feel differently if perhaps it was 7yrs 100mil. Anyway Houston must not be doing to well under Morey if their fans are coming here

All that **** that they are talking yet they would be real upset if the rolls were reversed.

Its okay for Boston, LA and Miami to build a super team. Yet the thought of the knicks forming a super team all of a sudden gets everyones panties in a bunch. LA can go through Shaq, Gasol, and possibly Howard and nobody would even blink. Yet Knicks possibly looking to add CP3 with Melo, a faded Amare a couple, 40yr olds and its a problem.

The problem with Houston is the need to be more realistic. They aren't going to give up everything from cap space to 2-4 draft picks and 3 prospects from previous drafts for Howard and then convince him to stay in Houston. THEN convince CP3 to leave Clippers who would have a better team then the Rockets and have Blake Griffen to sign with the Rockets just because they have Howard.

They should be more focused on building through the draft with there 5 first rd picks in the past 2 yrs and build it up like OKC did then playing these games.

I mean they had 3 first rd picks and didn't take a chance on Perry Jones smh. Or take a guy like Tyler Zeller who would fill a need. Or use one of the 3 to land a Pg either through the draft or through trade.

Let them have it. We attack other fans here too, right? What I don't get is why be in Rockets forum if you are a Knicks fan and vice versa?

Check the other thread about Lin's offer sheet to see how Grunnie is getting his revenge...

You know what, i kind of inderstand the hate now. The reality is that after their starphuck falls short, they are still just a lottery bound team with major holes to fill. They are going to need to overpay to attract any talent so....it wont be long before the dream of starphucking dies and the reality of having to play a losing season is upon them. Have fun overpaying for marginal talent or embrace the OKC model...but this year you are going to suck

regardless, I think his agent and Lin would still test the market.
Especially if Lin, no longer wants to stay for some reason?

*IF* Dantoni really got kicked out by Melo, Do you guys think he had a plane to to do the same with Lin, and saying stuff privately to do him to urk him?

I just doesn't seem right to me, I know Melo always says the right things when the cameras are pointing at them, just like Lebron/Wade on national TV, but they are actually different types of people outside of all that.

I have Melo's body language, during all the up and downs of the season ,all year long whether (interviews- post game- pre game) *before Lin- when he does well but we lose, and I can tell you he is a very selfish individual. That game that he scored 1point but had good rebounds/assist/and played good defense, he was not happy. He has a genuine smile and he has a fake one. Of course he cannot show his jealousy and such with about Lin.....He was not a happy happy when Lin took over, he was even more upset when fans turned on him, booing him over Lin, when he went ISO mode. When he even says I hope he came to play with TEAM USA, he is actually implying "come look what real PGs do, u think you can hang with these elite players like me"

Cp3
Deron

Westbrook
Harden

Even, Melo saying, I hope NY matches now, "I want to continue to play with Lin"...

Carmelo Anthony has something in his plans to continue to be the featured player in the offense, so he can opt out and, earn more than what

Lin, Felton, and Nash all combined make for the 3rd year, for another 3 year extension

The truth, I think will come out soon, Lin is a complete REAL and genuine individual.
He did not play to SCORE.
He played to WIN and DO what was best for the team.
Since day 1, before Linsanity, he always credits his team, all the role players, and kept telling the media, I want it to be about KNICKS BASKETBALL not about me.
It obviously wasn't working, after awhile, he followed the advice of the veterans, he just stopped expressing himself much to the media, and focused on playing ball.

Maybe Dantoni, told him what really happened with him, and Melo said things to discourage Lin from coming back, as he was able to reclaim the team when Lin went out
When it was obvious we needed a PG that could penetrate/facilitate during the Heat match up, HE DID NOT WANT LIN TO RETURN for game 3/4/5 in the series.....

LIN
=======

Difference between Lin and Melo, Lin takes quality shots and passes the ball to the open man. He actually looks to set others up.
The team know's how to play off penetration and hitting it to the OPEN MAN.
With speed/quickness, ability to hand the ball/penetration, he forces double/triple teams, breaking our opponents defense down, and earn room/shot for others.

MELO
========

Melo looks to SCORE 95% possessions and how the defense will guard him, and what he can do to score, that is it.
As long as he can get his shot off, it is a good shot in his books.
Favorite moves are, usually off the dribble or his infamous, jab, jab, shoot.

PLAYERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PLAY OFF THIS

not knowing when he is trying to penetrate
not knowing when he will shoot
not knowing if or when he will does actually pass, a lot of times not expecting it especially when they are no look passes

EVERY TIME, Melo gets the ball, we become stagnant, and play right in to the defense when they have rebounding position and are ready to predict when Melo would shoot to prepare a fast break

It is just give Melo the ball and stand in the corner, get out of the way, this style does not work for extended amount of periods, KOBE is much better than Melo at doing this and it gets gets him big LOSSES with big fat contract 30m a year, with great numbers a lot of the times

Are you referring to my posts?
I can't see why the Knicks will not calculate, call up the league for offers, and let an asset in Lin walk away for free?
I think my reasons on why Lin will get matched have great points.

Grunweld/Dolan/ and staff will have to decide with these next 2-3 days, to decide if they will match/keep Lin or match and trade him, VS letting him walk for NOTHING.
If Lin wants demands his heart is no longer with the squad, they will move him, and get back assets for him.

Pacers, Suns, Dallas, OKC, are teams that have assets for him, and could use a PG of his caliber as well as the fan base that Lin would bring from a business POV as well as a basketball approach to improve the teams.

They have 2 chips and memories of Hakeem, I'll gladly take abuse from them. At least they have more cred than these stupid Nyets fans.
