Not sure how much of it is true, but if the Dwight Howard trade is true, they might need to make a lot of roster spots with all the junk they are taking back.
And Jordan/Jorts salaries are not guaranteed, so they could be pulling another Jeremy Lin all over again, then offer him a poison pill to whoever picks him up this season, next summer if he does well, and Dwight Howard leaves....

My guess is that Jorts is more valuable than Gadzuric but with the possible Dwight Howard trade they needed his contract off the books.

My guess is grunwald held onto gads contract to get a shooting guard. They would get more cap relief from gadz. If grunwald feels Houston is out to get him he should put out there that he isn't going to resign Lin. I think the reason lins contract was changed was because d12 came into play. If waiting until the final hour before signing Lin causes morey to make another cap clearing move Knicks should do it if they reAlly think there was malicious intent in the Jorts moves and Lin signing

Is that new to this cba? I know herb was traded waived and resigned by the Knicks. More recently illguaskas did it .

think it was the new CBA. but i definitely saw in writing that the knicks could not re-sign him until July 2013

I think so too. Under the old CBA I remember there being a lot of trades where players making less money were thrown into trades to make the salaries matched and then waived so they could resign with their original team

1. Possible Dwight signing (which will be helped if they have Lin)
2. Keeping us from getting CP3 next year

And they are executing a plan to work both scenarios. Morey is doing his job, too bad Grunwald didn't play his hand very well.
