how about learning how to do a drop stop, step up and stop penetration and boxing out and rebounding the ball

Better yet, how about playing defense and not playing like a scared kitten on the court? Amare is a fugazy. Go out on the court and bang with the big boys, rebound and stay in front of your man you jackazz.

I can't argue at all with these comments, mainly because I totally agree. The guy needs to look at the team and adjust his game and decide how he can best contribute -- even if it means he averages 15 points a game and doesn't come close to sniffing the All-Star game. Time to bring your lunch pail and hard hat to the Garden, Amare (OK, you can bring your goggles as well).

It's amazing how Amare went from a god to a bum in such a short period of time.

One more thing: If Amare has any smarts at all, he will realize that at this point in his career, his best shot at leaving behind a legacy is to be part of a Knicks championship team, even if it means he was not the leading scorer, or maybe even the second-leading scorer.

If you look back at the two Knicks championship teams, does anyone really single out one or two players? It was genuinely about the entire team. Similar with the '86 Mets. If you are part of a special championship team in NY, you are pretty much immortalized no matter what role you play.

So Amare needs to understand that if the team wins, he wins. Sounds simple, but I just hope he grasps this, because I do believe that if he accepts a new role where he is not necessarily the No. 1 offensive option and pays more attention to defense and rebounding, he could really give his career a new boost, while helping the Knicks win.

If he REALLY means what he means, then he should've taken a pay cut so the Knicks can go pursuit other missing pieces... What did you say Amar'e? You won't do that? Then guess you're just another expensive body for the Knicks that cares less about defense nor the team.. I'm working hard to get Kate Upton's attention too, just like you Amar'e with trying to bring Knicks a championship..

Tough crowd, huh? Amare had a pretty rough year last season and still contributed to their success, even if they didn't reach the heights we expected. If one thing can be said about Amare is that he is a prodeful player, so I'm pretty sure this Twitter self campaign holds some truth. Just recently it was said he was training hard and would later work out with "The Dream" so he could develop better post moves on offense and defense.

Listen, is highly unlikely Amare will be traded at this point, and even though he was a mess last season, we can't forget throughout most of his career he's actually been pretty solid and I expect him to have a bounce back season. Lets hope for that and root for hik because anything else will simply not help our goal of actually winning a championship.

And for the first time in a while we may have the pieces to really do it. Amare is one of the most important so lets hope he can be the strong player we need him to be.

yea.. I guess Amare's first year here has been wiped from the record books. You know.. the one where everyone thought he needed Nash to be a good scorer but Amare still put up 25ppg and shot over 50%. The one where Amare led the league in 4th qtr scoring. The one where we went from a 30 win team to a playoff team and relevent.

Not sure why people bash Amare. If memory serves, after Carmelo joined Amare AND Landry Fields started to play like crap. Why not blame the root cause?

Gotta agree with the haters. Amare has to sacrifice his game and play the "Garnet" role. Set good picks, hit that mid to long range all day, pick his spots inside. The guy is turning 30 soon, he no longer is the man. He has to forget about averaging 25-26 pts and focus on getting a double double and playing great help D. Body your man, box out, call out picks etc. Do the little things. Enough talk, enough twitter, just lead by example tough guy.

If he really wants to help, he should agree to a contract buyout for $1.

Saying you want a championship and doing it are two different things. Saying it is easy anyone can do it.

I agree with the hate: I just wish both Stat and Melo would die in a fiery bus wreck and have bequeathed their roster spots to DLee and Gallo in perpetuity. And their respective estates would also give the Knicks back ALL of their contract money, especially all that money that's been wasted over the past two years.

Then everything would be perfect again. If only this could come true...

And Melo still looks fat, and Stat is still saying and doing stupid things! And our team s-u-c-k-s sucks sucks sucks.

What the hell is going here, I see this is what-have-you-done-for-me-lately bunch..

one good season and one bad season, but almost all of you seem to remember is the 25 or so bad games that he had.

You retards should be thankful this guy jump started our rise, you should be thankful cause no other allstar player wanted to come close to wearing a knick uniform in the last 10/11 years, and we could be stuck with David Lee, who despite making 20 mill less then amare is still over paid big time.

Most of you are sounding like Stephen A..I don't need Amare being no lunch pail expensive role player,
because he has the respect around the league as a force, and it's because of him that these veterens decided to play here.

Im just surprise at some of you who are normaly smart basketball fans, but seemingly don't appreciate the real bottom line.

sacrifice for who? Who on this roster is Amare sacrificing for? Melo? Lin? Who on this roster scores at a better FG%? Chandler.. and thats it.

dumb dumb dumb statement amigo.

Lets see... our PF averages 54% shooting for his career. He scored at over 50% without Nash last year. So lets take shots away from one of the leagues most effecient scorers and give those shots too _____________ (fill in the blank)

By the way, whatever you put on that blank line is the wrong answer. Its a trick!
