Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

You must give credit! BUT BUT JR wants to be in NY, NOVAK likes NY, Jeffries, Camby wants to come back, Kidd wants the challenge. So front office gets a point but the luck is there that the players want to be here! I was never bitter about LBJ not coming here but its nice to have players want to return to wear the jersey.

Donnie didn't do anything significant. Grunwald has done very well so far, though.

Didn't Donnie help to clear the salary cap that allowed us to get in the game for all the players we have now. That seemed to have been the single most significant move the Knicks have made in a decade

If you're willing to trade away enough picks, anyone can clear cap space. Donnie used that cap space to give $100 mil uninsured to Amare. It would have been better if he'd been just a zombie who did nothing but let our players' contracts expire actually.

Hmmmm...Jerome James gone. Eddy C gone. A zombie would have waited for those two to become Robinson and Duncan. A zombie would have truly lasted 5 minutes in the IT/Starbles error aftermath.

In case you haven't noticed, your management approach only plays well in places like OKC and Santone. Which, last time I checked, were not here in the big top. Boston, LA, Miami, even to some extent Chicago all play the Starphucque game now.

Duhon
Crawford
Q rich
Lee
Z Randolph

Nate
Chandler
Gallo
Can't remember exactly who else.

I remember this team got off to a hot start and they made the tough choices. In the end it seems to have paid off. But gotta give credit to MDA also at least with this group. They were smoothe offensively and were a Professional unit from day 1. Most of these guys weren't halfway developed yet either. He made duhon an assist machine and made Jamal and Zach consistent 20 pt scorers.

Thank you! I get so tired of posters slagging on the Walsh/MDA cap clearing days. Comments like "we finally have a solid coach". With all the crap that Walsh n MDA had to endure just to get this team ready for 2010, the lack of appreciation is mind boggling. Guys like Walsh n MDA HATE LOSING! Just look at the negative impact it had on their legacy. The only consolation for them is the money they got and the fact this roster isn't possible without their work at the beginning! No need to kick dirt on them for inheriting the mess and doing the dirty work while not being able to receive the glory when the team is finally finished.

I think if it were up to MDA he would've never traded that core of players. He loved that group. I always wonder how it would've turned out had we kept them, but then again guys like Duhon, Jamal, and Nate were too hot and cold overall.

Grunwald did a great job of maximizing the limited resources he had this offseason. All we had was a 3 mil MLE and we were able to keep 3 of 4 of our own FA's at a reasonable price and added players the quality of Kidd and Camby. Great job.

Bonn, we sat in salary cap hell since the day we traded Patrick Ewing. It was Donnie who got the ball rolling in the right direction. If a Zombie could do it, why wasn't it done back in 2000?

As for Amare. I would not have given him that huge contract but......Without him we would not have Melo, Chandler etc. We'd still be sitting here watching the likes of Nate Robinson etc. Amare told the world that NY is a place to play again. You had to overpay the guy to start the momentum. We could not walk away without a big name free agent last year. We had too.

I still remember Ed Tapscott passing on Ron Artest back in 1999 for Frederic Weis. The Basketball Gods were not kind to us after that...

Regardless, it was still Donnie that got us going that direction.HE could have chosen the same path as Layden and Isiah. He chose not too. Why take credit away from that. NOt everyone would have made that decision
