stretch 4 is so important when you got centers that can't shoot beyond 3 feet of the rim..they clog the lane no matter the offensive system..prevents penetration, and melo and amare are stuck shooting jumpers..

you could essentially get him for bag a peanuts or cotton candy at this point.. he's not going to require a bunch of playing time and i think he's good Ins if melo, amare or novak go down..

what you guys think

Probably goes to Miami. We'll see, as we are supposedly meeting him in the next few days.

I don't get the pull in Miami.

At the 2, 3, stretch-4 where Lewis could maybe play: LeBron, Wade, Miller, Battier, Ray Allen, James Jones, Bosh. Where's the minutes?

Maybe he gets Millers minutes, if he doesn't come back.

I wouldn't mind him. We need 2 more playes, a stretch 4, like you said, and a legit 2 guard. Too bad we can't play in shifts. We woould have a dominant defensive team. but can't have players not really guarding Camby and Tyson.

We can always let JJ2 go who is injury prone for Lewis. We have Novak I still rather get a shooter in the backcourt that can play with Melo, Amare, Lin & Tyson

I would be okay with it, wouldn't be very excited because he hasn't shown the ability to be an effective rotation player the past couple of seasons.
In fact, I watched many games from Orlando to Washington, in which he missed many WIDE OPEN, 3point shots.

He is about 32-33, but he seems to be one of those players that lost his hunger for the game after his huge contract.
With that age, some players are unable to adapt to the loss of their athleticism, speed/quickness, and unable to perform consistently.
He use to be a post option, with turn around fadeaways, from mid post, and even deeper position.
When playing the 4, he use to have the speed/quickness over the PF's and when playing SF, he had the size over many players.
It has been a couple of seasons already since, he was that type of player.

Coming out of High School, drafted in 1998, he has played over 13 years already, same draft class as Dirk, Bibby, Candyman, Harping, Pierce, Bonzi Wells, and many others that are out of the league or have diminished big time.

I think Miami Heat would be ideal for him, playing limited minutes and with Lebron/Wade/Bosh/Battier capable of supporting him.
As a spot up shooter, playing Mike Miller's role would fit him.

As a Knick, I am not sure, which Lewis we are getting, If he cans still hit a wide open 3point shot, he would be worth a roster spot at the vet min.
I would rather have a young player like Anthony Tolliver, undrafted SG/SF's with good size like Hollis Thompson, and a F like John Shurna.

I have video clips of both players in the "6 days till Summer League" thread.

I'd rather have that awful Landry Fields back. We joke about the ghost of Michael Bibby, do you really want this Zombi in a Knick uniform???
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

most veteran minimum players that can shoot will choose Miami, with that core, being left wide open for shots, is like doing a layup drill.
It cannot get any easier for them to earn that $ and a chance to win a ring, while getting taxed much less compared to other teams, and with the nice weather *hot girls* parties as side incentives?
By advancing in playoffs, finals, you also get more $ too I believe.
So its is a free ride for these type of players.

Where is his minutes coming from in Mia. They barely used James Jones.

Right when you have Lebron you tend to play a very short rotation. Starting 5 plus Allen, Battier, haslem, cole...thats it

Well Wade just finished surgery so, he might be out for the start of the season.

Exactly. If I was MIA and Knicks too I would be filling out my roster with young talent to have after the three years when Wade and Bosh are on the way down.

they are just collecting as many shooters as possible, the shooters on the Heat aside from Chalmers and a developing Cole *more for defense now* are all not young with a history of injuries.
So they can continue to play the same style to make it through the season, giving everyone rest when possible, accounting for injuries to come.
Let's not forget about Justin Hamilton, he is an addition that could develop to give Bosh time off, while being a legit big to spread the floor.
Maybe they cut him since he is a 2nd rounder and we claim him off waivers

Bosh and Lebron are probably the 2 most important pieces on The Heat

They could afford to have Wade out, since they acquired Ray Allen, with all those shooters, and Chalmers Cole

*John Lucas* looking to join to Heat as well
