Does anybody know the particulars of why or how this could happen and why perhaps no one is talking about it?

Kyle Lowry is a good, tough, young pg who could be a good fit along with Felton.

Sorry Mike Lowry is a bad boy, i meant Kyle Lowry. My bad. Lol

I've read that Houston wants to use Lowry as a chip in a possible trade for Dwight Howard.

Mike Lowry - LOL!

On topic: because Lin is better and we can match their offer. If they want to throw in tons of sweeteners, I'd do an S & T, though.

Lin is not better than Lowry. Would Toronto reject a Lin/STAT for Calderon/Bargnani deal? I would do that in a second.

off the court yes. Actually if the Knicks were to do this they have leverage to get a young piece or two to go along with Lowry.

Lowry wants to get paid, Im not sure what he is looking for tho...He wants out of Houston but Houston wants something back that is tangible...They figure they could get Lin with the back loader for free...

It is not about how Lin will play but about money he can bring.
Not sure if at this point there is a better money cow that Lin in NBA.
Bbal considerations means nothing for Dolan and MSG. Business means everything.
Also as ignorant as Jimmy is he will not allow anybody to take away his little Chinese toy.

Well you can't compare a 6 year vet to a guy who basically was a rookie.
Here are their per 36 min #s at the same age (23):
Lowry: 13.5 PPG on .397 FG%, 6.7 APG and 2.5 TO, 5.4 RB, 1.3 Stl
Lin: 19.6 PPG on .446 FG%, 8.3 APG and 4.8 TO, 4.1 RB, 2.1 Stl

Lowry is definitely a nice player but I don't see a clear edge over Lin.

Especially with Brooklyn trying to steal the backpage of the newspapers

Exactly. This is media war not bbal competition.
Who has more stars and controversy will win.
We are in very good position with Linsanity, Melodrama, Statbluders, Novacain, Angrychandler, and other characters.
They can also play the game and produce a lot of highlight.
Nets are also trying to get in the act with controversial stars so it will be a big battle. But Jimmy will win...

Lowry is signed for this year and next. I think hes better than Lin. Lins value is more off the court than on, i dont think he can replicate linsanity.

He doesnt have to replicate linsanity and carry the team. He will actually be playing with a healthy melo & amare. He averaged 8assists passing the ball to jeffries and fields. I'd imagine he'd average over 10 playing a full season with Melo & Amare

Now mda's system inflated Lin's numbers a bit. He wont average close to 9 assists sharing time with Felton. But id gladly take 15 & 7 on 45%+ shooting.
