Steve Nash is allowing the Knicks time to create a sign-and-trade deal that would be acceptable to the Suns while also getting him a higher salary, according to a source.

Landry Fields was one player Phoenix was known to have interest in, but he agreed to a $20 million, three-year offer sheet with the Raptors on Tuesday that takes him out of the running.

Toronto has a three-year, $36 million offer on the table to Nash.

Sounds like Nash wants NY, and Shumpert would probably be the guy to go.

Goodbye iman shumpert & jeremy lin. Nash goes down with a career ending injury and toney douglas is our pg again.

Nicely done Brooklyn

this 'deal' would have to get VERY creative, i'm guessing, for the knicks to figure this out.

this could mean shump is gone.

Forum Po Po and #33 for a reason...

Why good-bye Lin? He's a cash cow, no way Dolan lets him go. He is resigned at 4 years-40 million and starts at SG while playing a majority of minutes at PG when Nash isn't on the floor. Knicks back them up with a pair of SGs off the bench starting with JR Smith. Seems reasonable enough.

If the Knicks keep Lin, I'd understand trading an injured Shumpert. The teams in win now mode and you could get a catch and shoot guy for the minimum.

Nash is ancient. Knicks can't keep making other game execs of the year. Hopefully grunwald has the juice to stop this.

I love shump. But he has a big ? in front of him. He is hurt, and was somewhat fragile during the season.

great defender, but can he last a season?

our window is small, and lines up with Nash.

I think the big question is there with Nash as well. Guy is going to be 39on his next b-day. He is on borrowed time already career wise no matter what he eats.shump is already one of the best defenders in the MBA. You can't give up on that to chase the dream that you got a the first guy ever that defied father time. Nash would need to give the Knicks 4-5 years at a high level to be worth shump.

I'd honestly rather have the combo of Kidd and Shumpert, than just having Nash for a few years. Lin can get just as much wisdom and whatnot from Kidd as he would from Nash

He did not draft Shumpert and Jorts.
